I just got the news for her!

She was nervous all day long, because she thought she wasn't prepared and took all the exams today, but it seems she did great. She starts next semester.

I'm so proud of her, and I just felt like sharing it with you guys :)

How does this news relate to Corpse Bride? Sometimes I just don't understand you Lira :p

:stongue:

My girlfriend and I watched the new "Chocolate Factory", produced by Tim Burton, who also produced "Corpse Bride". See, it all fits together! :D

how old is she?
i dont know what the equivalent of an associate professor is in this country, but the level below professor here is called a reader and you'd have to be pretty old to even reach that high

Haha, well I realised I was taking the subject away from your girlfriends achievement.

What I will say though, is that I honestly think it's one of the best films I've seen. A lot of brits like it actually, it got good reviews and everyone I've spoken to liked it! Was it popular in Brazil?
Boomer187
is it s tenure track position, or do you no have that over there?

regardless, w000000t.

That's the natural tendency of threads, don't worry.

Yes, it was, and it was considered part of the second "awakening" of our film industry. There was even some kind of off-shoot, called "Cidade dos Homens" (Men's city), which I guess was a TV series.

I made some research now that you asked me this (I always thought that professor was just someone who taught at university, and associate professor was the apprentice). After looking it up on Wikipedia, it seems she's going to be a lecturer then (and probably "instructor" in the US).

She's 27 - makes sense to be just a lecturer then, right?
(Thanks for pointing that out :))

Well, the system requires her to work for 2 years there (and I don't think she can be dismissed during that time), and then she has to do something else (e.g. go get a master's degree) for another 2 years after that.

Can a tenure position be temporary like this?
