My Ebay Account Was Just Hijacked!

all i can say is WTF? i had ebays toolbar open and all of a sudden 4 pop ups came up sayin i had won 4 laptops i was like wot? i check my emails to c if i had recieved anythin about the items. i had 2 emails from ebay saying i had changed my password and email address linked to my account.
i absolutely crapped myself did the live help thing and regained the control of my account once again. they were very very helpful!
now i go on my account to find the person who stole my account had bought 7 laptops that equate to $4,600. i have told ebay about ALL the items that were bought using my account illegally. most of the items were all from memebers with 0 feedback barring 1 so im guessing that they may not all be legit anyway, but i am starting to recieve invoices for sum these items and wen i explain my situation to the seller they get irrate and im worried they will spoil my 100% feedback that i am proud of.
has this happened to anyone else here? or if u have any ideas or anythin that i can do to help myself furthur please please help!
PS ul be glad to know ive changed EVERY password now, just waiting for the first time i get annoyed because i cant remember wot it is. |

Sorry to hear that. I'm actually familiar with the entire tedious process of recovering a stolen/hijacked account. It's horrible since most of the folks at eBay are as confused, if not more than yourself, about how to handle the situation and restore things back to normal. The digital system they set up to handle problems is riddled with holes and is extremely ineffecient, from my experience.

yeah its a pain to get things dealt with quickly. email responses take forever. but their live help was quick although it took awhile for an operator to become avaliable. im just glad i got my account back. ive got a 96 feedback thats 100%. its taken my years of buyin crap that idont really need to get it up to that so i wanna try and keep it that way.
if this allgoes up then i got 7 laptops to sell as long as i make my $4,600 back i dont mind! :crazy:
im sure it wont come to that tho, still it scared thelife out of me. |

yeah too right! thing is i am always reli careful and have never had any problems before. its not like im new to ebay or the internet.
the messed up thing was that it all happend in about 15 mins. was on ebay lookin at sum artwork i went to answer the door to let my g/f in and when i got back the ebay toolbar pop ups were there. another 15 mins later the account was mine again. in that time they had spent $4,600 if id of been out god knows how much it culd of been.
just hate waiting for ebay to sort out thing like this out. |

watch out for nigerians. Specially when they ask you to transfer money for them. |

| I've had my ebay account jacked once. Luckly I caught it quickly. Try not to disclose your email address or use it as your account name. Scammers love jacking accounts to sell bogus stuff with it and leaving you to clean up after. |

Actually the only time I've been ripped off on ebay was by an American.
I think he was pissed cos i bought Westbam vs Red Jerry - Wizards of the Sonic for 1 cent:stongue:
but yeah that sucks. |
