nice.
good work on this dude. i like the way it builds up - i remember this one from the PSX with teh lightgun pointing at the tv styleee! :D
the pad/string work on this is good (atmosphere wise) and that bleepy intro thing is great too, sounds just like from the game
though the breaks could be a bit more meaty, like a giz/hiphop drummer sample in there or something every now and then just to give it some variation
oh and maybe get like a hybrid/BT influence in there with some acidey type sounds and an extra gated layer or something, just to spice it up a bit like
mix/EQ wise is fine in my ears, i dont see how ppl can detect such minor occurances in frequencys and round here (must have really decent monitors/equipment)
but yeah good work on that! |

Yeah, I think I'll beef up those percs and add some details here and there, I only spent a couple of hours on this so far. Maybe on the weekend when I have more time...

hey mystery.
im a fan of the track from the airport level. its great!
listening...
great atmosphere. piano is good and i love the gritty blippy sounds. 'sampler style synth strings' are good. i like the non quantised sound to it. gives a more human sound.
no complaints here. id quite like a half and half mix of 4:4 beats and breakbeats. and maybe a more dubby sound during main bits. so its more dancefloor friendly. using that dark atmosphere/melody during the breaks etc, but it would prob turn quite generic.. then again some huge interesting percs would spice things up..
this will be a good intro track to the vgm mix...

Thanks for the feedback.
I've updated the track slightly. Nothing major - extended the middle break, added some new percs & tidbits and made the ending slightly more "out there" ;)

Overall, this is a very original piece. I like how you took your time with the intro (is that a radio static effect panned to the left?). Also, good work on the stereo field. About halfway through, I'd love a 4/4 house beat to come in, though it would work better if in the 1st half the beat wasn't so hard. But it's your tune, and you did a good job on it. You did this in a couple of hours?

Pretty much, yeah. I had a pretty good idea of what I wanted to do and once I found the midi it almost happened by itself.

I was bored so I slapped some vocals from the movie on top of the track. See first post for a link :)

I couldn't find a clean sample of it quickly enough. The vocal mix isn't anything serious anyway.
