It dosent play the new games that are coming out, bf2, 2142, fear...
if i wouldnt of said it was dell, would you say it was a descent pc??? |

What matters to the hardware geeks is the details of the components.
Dvd/cd drive info?
Motherboard
Ram brand etc etc
There you just posted an advertisement with some candy to sugar coat a machine for which you have no details about. |

No, 1 GB is plenty for games to run smoothly, heck a lot of games only need 512 MB of RAM to run, not many requiring 1 GB yet. Anything more is overkill, unless you have a bunch of other stuff connected to your system or if your working with graphics. And good you have DSL, 56K doesn't cut it nowadays. |

Not for nothing, but for gaming I'm still happy with my XBOX, and I rarely use it. I'm a computer Major, and I never felt the need to upgrade my own PC, for the last six years. I think I'd shoot myself, if I spent my money a new Dell. I'm so glad I'm a computer genius, building PCs and large-scale networks for a living, so I don't have to listen to overseas Tech Support, riddle their scripts. They're dumber, than the average 'lost' customer.
My next computer will be a brand-spankin' new MAC laptop or MAC Mini, and another custom self-built PC. |

Now this is a shocker.
Anyway, in order to be a good gaming computer you're going to at least have to upgrade the CPU to a Core 2 Duo and get a real video card. |

Just look it up google, and you'll find alot of complaints about them especially there customer support. Plus If your looking for gaming I recommend going custom built anyways. But those specs are like a year ago but you can play battlefield 2 or other games close to that. Alot of new technology are coming and when tht day comes, are you able to upgrade to it? Maybe not, cuz it may not be compatible for it. This computer is ok for like internet, typing, basic gaming. You have to think ahead when getting a computer. Mine is custom built and cheap but its ready for another 2 years of what's coming out in the future, I will be saving alot of money in the long run.
So I hope this changes your mind towards this computer. :)
