Arrrghhh!! What a wicked weekend. Nice drive up to Birmingham, after a bit of queuing got inside and we were pretty worried coz it was a bit empty. Also the warm up DJ was playing some very slow prog/tribally house which we just couldn't dance to. Never fear though, coz one hour later it's 11pm and Marco V's behind the wheels. 10 minutes in he drops Godd (original mix) and from that point on it's mayhem, the place is packed, the sound is as good as I've ever heard in a nightclub...so crisp and clean and it's everywhere.

Best bits of the night had to be the insane amount of booth-hanging we did. We originally slipped in with Nataz to say hello to Armin's girlfriend, and after that I reckon people just thought we were supposed to be there coz nobody asked us to leave even after Armin left. We were just coming and going as we wanted :p By the end of the night it's just me and Jason in there with Ferry, coz Ferrys manager had pissed off somwhere and left us in charge of making sure nobody else came in the booth (how ing important did we feel, turning people away and people giving us stuff to pass on to Ferry for him to sign haha). Was pretty funny when Ferrys manager came back and Jason didn't recognise him and told him he couldn't come in lol.

And when Ferry dropped Punk, all the crowd were singing "dah dah dah dah, dah dah dah dah" and his face was like :conf: so he had a fiddle with the knobs and turned down the riff, so it was just the backbeat with the crowd singing the tune over it. Anyway he finished with My Dance which was wicked, but I wasn't very impressed with him til the last 30 mins (he was on last)

Armin was after Marco V and was wicked, really got everybody going a treat. His girlfriend (can't remember her name grr, was talking to her for ages) was having a wicked time n'all on the dancefloor.

Marco V...mmmm....just how we like it.

Greetz to Neo and Nataz too...both sound as they come.

Sounds like you had one amazing time, hope you dont mind me putting the review up on my site :)

My collection has started :)

I keep hearing mixed reviews about GK, some say it's crap others say it's amazing 'almost as good as crasher now' I enjoyed it at the Sanctuary when I was there but they didn't play enough trance and the bass beat was too dominating, i'd like to go to Code one day but I think why bother making tmie on a friday when Gatecrasher can be organised more easily for Saturday.

Don't really know why I wrote this, better put something constructive on the end.......yeah so the debate about GK is on.

Godskinuvan...sounds good doesn't it:)

gods kitchen debate??..no problem..

GODS RULES!!!:D :D

i've been to godskitchen longer than i've been goin to crasher..and it is still a wicked club!..its a definate alternative from crasher that houses similar line ups and similar night time experiences!i think that sumtimes its good to go to another club to keep the thrill and to try out new venues..

having said that...

its not as good as crasher imo..only because of the friends i've met (they make the difference to a night) and theres more wandering space in crasher..apart from that..then the club itself is superior!

the sound especially, is astonishingly good..for example crashers sound predominantly comes out of 2 huge speakers at the front by the dj box and is now aging and muffled at times..whereas in gods the sound is encapsulated (big word for sunday!!)around the whole dance floor and just makes the whole audio frequencies more crisp and clear!..like when marco v was playing his deep n dirty techy stuff, the bass was sooooooo deep and damagin!..and the beats soo ear poppingly excellent:eek:..you can't hear a thing from anybody until you clear the dancefloor..and then as if by sum sort of magic..it fades out so you can chat to randoms!

i also think gods's light show is better as well!..but only slightly. sometimes gods also puts on mad cirus artists and performers like fire breathers and tight rope walkers..the best i've seen was this bloke attached to a bungie cord from the ceiling who kept summersaulting and diving down towards the crowd!..that was the pups plums!!:D

but fortunatly for spad and me the apmoshere was electric the other night!..the crowd were amazingly up for it and i could not beleive how loud the chants and cheers were!..wicked wicked!!:D sometimes in gods the apmos is rather dry and somber compared to crashers but the last 3-4 times i've been there its been a top crowd.

we had the best battenburgs i'd had for ages!..one sweetie and i was a gone-er!:p...but the highlight was spending time in that dj box! the view was in awsome!..the lazers on the crowd with nearly 2000 peeps all looking enviously at us whilst ferry was spinnin was a site i'l never forget!

btw marco v is godd!!hehe..he played sum top tunage classics like cafe del mar, born slippy's trainspottin anthem, spiritualised, madonnas like a prayer remix ?? and verdi!!..magnifico :p

sounds like ferrys and armins sets were very similar to those played at telewest.i again thought that ferry wasn't as impressive in his tunage selection..as he slowed the tempo considerably afer armins stompathon!..but having said that he is a top dj!..i couldn't believe whilst watching him how many tweeks and twists he makes to every tune onced mixed in!..and he did end the set with punk and my dance!..two very rate :p choons!:D

once again it was a massively messy weeknd with many rather stoopid (dancing in the midlle of the countryside to the bosh cd whilst picking dafodils) and crazy (floating around on clouds and brushing down horses with toothbrushes)antics had by the two of us!

roll on tiesto!!:D :D

Oh the memories start returning :D We also found out how to have the most fun in a service station ever! All you need is £5 and a pick 'n' mix stand. We had everything! Apple snakes, cola bottles, we even played Name That Tune with whistlepops (best tune of the night goes to Jasons awesome version of Urban Train btw).

And Jason... you coulda just copied that post, deleted it, and re-posted under your name. Ah well.

edit: I'll fiddle with it a bit and add your sig :)

sounds like you had aload of fun, maybe as much as i did :)

and wait a second, you actually SAW neo?! :eyes:
gibbo
haha u saw neo qeue the xfiles music anyway sounds like a class time i'll have to get down to gods some time when i have the cash and ferry is on again.
Wicked Neo

wOOt ! ! what a class night !!

Only downside of it was that the female bouncer decided that cos Nataz is dutch, she needed a thourgh search on the door, took 10 minutes ! ! !

still we got in when Marco was about 15 minutes into his set, The atmosphere was excellent, a refreshing lack of beer boys :)
Bumped into Spad and Jason and the 4 of us basicly hung with each other all night, Jason being the most energetic of us all kept rushing off to dance to TUNES !!!!!! hehe

Marco played a blinding set, dropping many of his own stuff, like Godd and Simulated, but also classics like Energy 52 - Cafe del Mar.

Armin got an excellent reception from the GK crowd as he entered the booth, his set being uplifting with a lot of vocal trance, sweet ! !
He also dropped a BRAND NEW tune that HE had only finished that day.

Ferry recieved the most amount of applause when his turn on the decks came, he played a much harder set than Marco and Armin, he brought the tempo right up , dropping the new 2002 remake of System F - Out of the Blue caused the right reaction's in the crowd, they loved it, he finished with Punk and like Spad said, the whole crowd was "singing" to it.
There followed a couple of minutes while Ferry signed autographs and ppl were still shouting for more, so for an encore he played My Dance.

Spad: Armin's GF is called Erika

It's night's like those that do make GK easily on a par with GC, as has already been said, GK's sound system is superior to Crasher's, its crisp, the bass is not distorted and the laser's are superb.

I don't think crasher will ever be beaten for atmosphere, but GK was class last friday night.

One of the best nights out I have had this year, Jason U are quite nutzzzzzzz :) Spad, totally sound, was nice meeting u two :)
