Lacking energy/drive? (Sample)

Right, so I've got this track that I have been producing on and off throughout the summer. I feel like there's not enough energy/drive/movement in the track when it kicks in. It might just all be in my head. Maybe I've listened to it too much?

Feedback on other parts of the production is also welcome. :)

I would start by playing with the decay of the noise hit on 2 and 4. Making that a sharp hit would definitely clean up the sound. For seconds (but this is just personal taste) i would get rid of that keyboard sound that is all too familiar with that type of music; as well as the rolling snares leading into something else. Just heard it too many times. You are definitely doing something right though.

Dont pay attension to people saying I_heard_that_to_many_times_speech! Theres no such thing!

Anyway, i think it has a real nice nrg in it, but i think its a bit to muddy on the mids. I cant put my finger in what it could be, but i think it could be that bassline, dont know. Otherwise i think you should keep working on it as it is. Those itro plucks are really nice :)

Cheers
