As far as this storm goes, im planning to drive up through north carolina on friday, any idea what to expect? should i reconsider?

its really weak so i dont see any problems with your excursion

i agree.. i drove though a hurricane last year.. or osmething like that, and had no problems.. well i drove through the beggining of it, which was jsut windy and what not.....

where are you going from and where in NC are you going to.




This will be the worst 60 hour accumulations (that is 60 hour totals from sat through tomorrow... model guidance-ish)

im coming from charleston SC and im going thru nc, charlotte to blacksburg WV, on to buffalo NY


my path looks like about 1.25 inches (?) of rain. thats totally manageable.

That is 60 hour accumulations. Do me a favor and mspaint-trace your path on that map and post or pm me with your aim/msn details and send me the pic

then a more accurate forcast can be rendered.

If thats the path then no forcast is needed. From all of the guidance Ive seen, going closer to the coast (definately shown by the bullseye) is where caution should be placed.

bump this thread tomorrow afternoon and we can see what the latest guidance and teisterno track will be taking.

Sam, you must SERIOUSLY be drunk to even give this a thought. Yes, drive down. It will be fine. Why are people talking about the intensity of this storm when its moving into cooler water and has been over land for a day? I just DONT GET IT.

yeah, im drivin up. but.. im from new york. we dont deal with hurricanes. wanna talk about the finer points of lake effect snow?
