| I'm guessing your bpm counter shows it wrong. They do that quite often. |

True.. but I am very impressed with the counters on the CDJ200s... as little as I use them.. they seem to be pretty damn accurate when I tested them out.. but yea.. Never trust them for anything more than maybe a quick reference on the pace of your set.. |

You must either be spinning breaks or happen to be looking at the counters during and breakdown bc that's really the only time mine eff up in that way. |

| Yeah BPM counters are a waste of time during breakdowns etc. Like everyone else says don't rely on them... Only use them to get a very quick ball park figure so you can start using your ears to beatmatch it properly. |

This has been one hesitation for me when it comes to purchasing a CDJ. I'm afraid that I might become "lazy" and rely on the BPM counter too much. However, seeing as how I bedroom DJ only, I ask myself "Does this really matter? " I am doing this for fun and stress relief only.
I'm sure there is a way to turn off the counter, right? And, besides, like everyone has suggested, I'm sure at best it's just a way to "ball park" your BPM. Fine tuning is what the human ear is for.
Isn't it silly to worry over such a thing? Still, I want to challenge myself, and I want my mixes (even though I am the only one to hear them) to come out as flawlessly as possible. Damn Type A personality! :whip: |

The bpm counters usually do more harm then good. Cause sometimes Ill be trying to beatmatch and one will say 128 and the other 129 and I will automatically think that the other is too fast but that is not always the case. So if you just ignore it, you should be fine.
The only thing I really use it for is when putting a cd in, if it needs a big adjustment, Ill just ballpark it and change the pitch to where I think itll be.
Oh and one of the best things about cdj vs tt is that you can see exactly what the pitch is at. Its much easier to see that you are +2.26 than say that you are a bit above the +2 on a tt. |

| i'm not saying the bpm counter is wrong i figure that atb song isn't really at 136bpm like it says. I even put in mixmiester and mixed to my music software and got it accurately at 139 |

| i dont even use it..... to be honest... the only thing i use on the cdj that requiers me to look down is th wav formatt, time remaninding, and how long the breakdown is..... because i like to throw acapellas... |

Or dn'b...CDJs hate it lol. :haha:
But yeah I've never had a problem with it...it's probably the most accurate BPM counter as far as CDJS are concerned... |
