There's this flute or whatever at the end of the Blue States Mix that totally gilds the whole song.
Original or Blue States Mix?

This sample starts near the end. I haven't heard the original in a while but I THINK this one is rather similiar to it. Anyway, you can hear the flute in there, and I love it!

ok, just downloading it.

edit: it's really nice, I would use this as an ending of some fantasy movie :)

That's gay, but yeah the song is good as hell.

The Blue States mix is e. If you like it, you'll get a kick out of Papua New Guinea Translations, which is similarly bankrupt retro e (the first two translations aside).

Somehow I knew you'd say that.
I gave the original a listen and I must say it's better than Blue States. But the flute is so nice, don't you agree?

I'll have to go fetch my 2001 remixes single to re-listen. The original is pure bliss though: my favourite piece of music. I have the 2001 single, the Translations album and the PNG Remix Anthology on the Accelerator rerelease, and I'm gonna have to find the 1992 single for the Graham Massey and Hamish McDonald mixes.

I get kind of aggressive about the many name-jumping remixes of the track out there, and the Blue States mix is one of those for me, especially as the FSOL did a whole album in the same style themselves. Trouble with that album is the first couple of tracks are brilliant but the idea just doesn't stretch.

The remixes I love most are:

Andrew Weatherall Mix
Journey to the Pyramid
Papsico Translation
The Lovers Translation

But nothing tops the original.
d-miurge
they are both different, I cannot choose one really.
montana
weatherall remix is the best remix besides the original. close second is the oil funk dub and the journey to the pyramid remix. massey's remix is horrible

You mean that ing dull prog mix that only exists so house and trance jocks can beatmatch it? Yeah, that's a real piece of art.
