hi guys,
no, this isn't a thread about how you can protect your ears in the club (buy Er-20s, blah blah).
I was just curious, i've noticed a lot of Djs around, who i don't think wear any protection, or just aren't aware.
Ofcourse, i haven't really asked any of them, but looking closely at their ears they don't seem to be wearing anything, unless everyone's wearing custom moulded deep earplugs. I even notice that a lot of pro DJS, who do it for a living, don't seem to be wearing anything...
What's up with that. Some of these guys have been doing it for like 20 years. They should be deaf. |

| Maybe not literally deaf, but they've definately lost some hearing capabilities. |

when i'm in front of the club system and facing the full volume i'll wear earplugs if it's too loud
but when djing, i'm behind the full assault of sound so it's not that damaging
if you turn your headphones and monitors down you'll be able to save your hearing and keep it working for a little longer |

You are not freak, If you do the one ear cue, the ear that is exposed to the monitors could be more damaged than the other one. |

did you use those cheap ty foam plugs? if you did, no wonder everything sounded like crap. get custom made ones, they're much better. we're talking lightyears better here. ;) |
