I have a favour to ask :)

Just wondering, i've never had the chance to play on a set of cdj's, any of them for that matter.

And i've always wondered what the whole cdj200 sound sounds like? EG. The winding forward without vinyl emulation capabilities.

How can you hear the beat, is it literally stuttering the whole time in your ears? Does that not wreck your head? I was just thinking today that i could never see myself mixing without a vinyl sound coming into my ears. Being able to hear the scratch noise while moving the platter/vinyl nearly feels like an essential part of dj'ing for me :)

Dunno though as i haven't heard the other side..

So i was wondering if someone could make a recording for me :)
Danila
lol if noone does I will do it later tonight. Just for you!

I dont miss the needle jumping off first beat when you are about to drop the track in. And I always used to "go" over the beat few times before I dropped it and sometimes the needle would jump off. ARGHGHG heh

You get used to CDj pretty quicky

Being that I spin vinyl, first time I heard the stutter from the cdj I quickly tapped vinyl mode on. I just couldn't get over it and it didn't make sense in my head, like you just said.

Looks like you'd be needing the 800s or the 1000s if you ever wanted to go digital.

I've always wanted to play around for a good hour or two on some CDJ's because everytime i go to a music store to try and do that it just doesn't work out for me.

I can't get used to it either. Vinyl mode for me.

Hi

ok here's the link I just made it

http://www.sendspace.com/file/f0fo57

Description: I started the song, few beats in I pressed play again which switched the CDJ to stutter mode. I used the platter to rewind it back to the first beat then fine tuned the first beat, pressed cue few times and thats it. Cue is set. You get used to it very quick
wizniz
ive never used vinyl but i find vinyl mode easier.

besides, it preps you for teh scratchage!

eh, it's not that bad, but i don't see it as necessary either.

Just spin it backwards in vinyl mode, and hear the doop doop doop. It's just so much easier.

it's just a way to tell DJs exactly where they're cued. The only problem is, sound is PLAYED, it can't be heard with the CD just stationary, or any recording medium stationary. So they only way to do it, is play a little bit, so they know exactly where the cue is.

Hell, you might not realise it, but a lot of people, including me, do it when they're using vinyl anyway. I shake it back and forward just to make sure it's cued where i want it, before i release. Kinda a bad habit sometimes, because u might move it too forward or too far back, and up the release. And if u haven't popped on enough weight the needle can skip. hell, I've even bumped the tonearm a few times doing that.
