anti-rain dance, yes:

1. go to kitchen.
2. locate bottle of tequila.
3. pour in blender.
4. add lime mix, throw in ice.
5. blend.
6. pour in wide-mouthed glass.
7. place salt or sugar around rim.
8. turn on any trance album
9. dance and drink.
10. eventually pass out.

i guarantee the rain will disappear.

Fading Ernesto to soak GTA
‘It could be far more miserable,’ weather expert cautions

Don’t let thoughts of Ernesto put a damper on your weekend plans.

Rain with gusts of wind are expected due to the former hurricane Ernesto - now relabelled a tropical depression - which has already made it’s way past Florida, South Carolina this past week and is set to hit Ontario tomorrow.

Parts of southern Ontario should expect 2-5 centimetres of rain along with winds of 40-60 km/hr in the late afternoon.

“It will be more of a psychological downer rather than a physical threat,” said David Phillips, senior climatologist with Environment Canada.” It could be far more miserable than it is going to be.”

Normal temperatures for this time of the year hover around 23 degrees but this weekend will be cooler by a few degrees.

“People will just have to drive through some rain instead of blue skies and others will run between the shopping malls and their cars,” said Phillips.

For those gazing at the skies during the air shows that mark the closing of the Ex, conditions are slightly iffy.

Two meteorologists, the president of the Canadian International Air Show and a number of pilots meet every morning to discuss the severity of weather and how it will affects the planes.

Since they are rarely faced with perfect weather conditions, which allow people to see punch ups – where the planes go vertical and shoot straight up, reaching 20,000 feet into the sky – the meteorologists and pilots are used to working with the challenges of nature.

This year it has come in the form of Ernesto.

“The winds will be uncomfortable for the crowds but not for the big jets,” said Paul Adams, meteorological briefer for the Canadian International Air Show. “And it may affect low-level aircrafts doing aerobatics,” he explained.

Winds are expected to pick up by noon tomorrow and conditions could deteriorate.

However, Adams said in the six years that he has monitored weather for the air show, there has only been one that was stopped mid-way.

“We will be watching all night,” he said. “Under conditions being predicted the planes may not fly but circumstances may change.”

If the rains are delayed by a few hours and they come in later in the evening instead of the afternoon, rest assured, the beloved Snowbirds will dazzle with their formations again.
