Wow! I can't believe the night came and went so fast! Took forever to get here, yet flew by so quickly! Many great memories from Friday @ Space! For me, the only phrase that can describe the night is...FINALLY! :p
Downstairs in the main room, Armin had the place slammed packed. That's a great thing. That means you'll hopefully see him here every 3-4 months or so. As for Markus, only got to hear a little bit of his set, but it was great what I heard. And I'd like to thank him for coming upstairs and saying what's up to me during my set. I loved his comments "Like the old days!" :D Hell yeah!
Thank you all who purchased pre sale tickets from me as well. It was a huge part in what made this night possible ;) See you all September 15....... |

IMO Armin brought it nasty this time. Nice track selection, great energy and flow to the set, and technically on point as well. (except for a CD malfunction on the last song he played). He had that main room going nuts start to finish, and rightly so IMO.
As for Markus, his set was not bad, but did not come close to the masterpiece he threw down during conference. I just felt his set this time lacked the energy and direction that I have seen from him before. Still wasn't bad, had the people that were left dancing, and he did throw some nice tracks as always.
Last but not least, Groove Eric. I have to first thank Seasunz for a) booking Eric, and b) letting me know Eric was on and asking me to go upstairs with him to hear him. Never having heard him live I walked upstairs and wondered if there was any way that the energy from downstairs could be matched, and as I reached the top of the staircase and heard what was being played the answer was clearly YES. I heard about 30 minutes of Eric's 1 hour set set, he dropped bomb after bomb, and had the room going off nicely. Very nice job indeed by TA's own resident DJ, who held his own without a doubt. As I told Seasunz before Friday night, if you blindfold everyone in Space and do not let them know who is playing when and asked them what part of the night was best, you would probably be surprised at whose set many people would pick as best.
Oh and that club was too packed, which is both good and bad. Bad because it makes it harder to have a good time with some idiots trampling everyone. But good because it shows that rumors of the death of trance have been greatly exagerrated by haters who cannot stand the genre. A turnout like this will be hard for LP/Space and other clubs to ignore (bottom line is good turnout = $$$$$), and maybe they will start to bring more trance to Miami. Until then we have 9/15 and Ferry in October to look forward to. |

| ok at the risk of starting a huge debate, I want to make a comment. At what point did it become cool to just bash the artists that 90% of the people paid to go see, and praise the local hero that was graciously (yet rightfully so) given a forum to spin? I am not doubting G.E. ability, but I think even Eric should be a bit embarrased at the Armin an Markus bashing and the G.E. stroking. I mean if you want to hype up Eric, then do it not at the expense of the headliners. I am sure that with all of this hating going on in here, Armin and probably even Markus dont have much of a desire to hurry back to Miami. Then our local hero is back to playing for 25 people that came out to Blue on a weeknight to see him. I think even Eric (and Eric you can correct me if I am wrong) prefers to see positive vibes and reveiws posted for Armin and Markus as it is better for his future to play Space again in the long run. Again praise G.E. for a job well done, but lets not get carried away and do so at the expense of bashing Armin and Markus. You are comparing two guys who have HUGE expectations to deal with from a very jaded and fickle TA community, to a local hero that we all want to see succeed and who knows personally what each of our favorite tunes are. |

No debate, just facts. While I would agree that AVB-hating on TA has occurred before, I disagree with you as I do not think anyone on here has wrongfully over-bashed Armin or Markus for this night. The reviews on here for AVB for this night have been mostly highly favorable. And Markus never gets bashed on here, TAs love him and give him nothing but respect. I just think Markus' set this time was not AS GOOD as other nights, and others seem to agree. Moreover everyone is entitled to their opinions, favorable or unfavorable.
As for giving props to Eric, even you agree they are deserved. And no one has done this in a disrespectful way to AVB or Markus. So what if some TAs like Eric more than they like Armin or Markus, it's still a free country, so let them be. And how can you say eric should be embarrased???? Are you nuts??? Eric has NO reason to be embarrased about anything, not his set and not what anyone writes on here about the night. What control does he have over what others opinions are or what they write?
Moreover the reaction of the people at Space speaks for itself. They loved Armin's set, so he will be back. So will Markus. And guess what, I feel confident that so will Eric. There is room for everyone. |

| I went for Armin, Markus and Eric, I enjoyed their sets, I enjoyed hanging out with the TA Family, Im there for the music and the DJ's, without the DJ's, there is no music, without the fans, there is no DJ to play the music we are there to hear, that is 1/3 of the people in there, 1/3 of us there for the music and the DJ's, the rest is there to party, whatever floats their boats, people do have their opinions, and state whatever they want, but if you go to see Armin, u have bashed him in the past but u are still there to see him, confuses me, I glad to see Eric moving up the ladder of success, I was happy to see Markus and Armin again spin in Miami, which before we only got to see them once a year, this time it was the third time this year, Appreciate the moment, dont bring it down with negative vibes, Just my opinion!!! |

| my point exactely. I am so sick of all these spoiled people in here bitching. What did it for me was when I saw a short list of songs that were played by Markus and Armin and people bitching. I mean ffs, Armin and Markus played 3 hours each, thats at least 30 tunes minumum each, 60 tunes combined, people see 10 songs that were ID'd and they pass judgement. G.E. played 1 hour, thats 10 songs. Eric, love you to death man, and am rooting for you, but common, you know good and for well what my point here is. If you want trance back in Miami, then unite and rejoice when its here. Dont divide the scene. In my opnion, its not the quality, style or tiesto that killed trance. Its the bitching on the message boards about the stupidist . |

| There is no doubt that some people on here will never have a good thing to say about Armin, no matter what he plays or does. So be it, let them be close-minded, it is their choice to make and defies popular opinion. That is why Spacemasters started his review how he did, because he knew the attacks were coming. I am convinced that even if armin were to throw down the best set in history, and shower the crowd with 1 billion dollars after the set, some people would still complain. |

Dont let it get to you Armin & Markus played good sets. And I know because I was there the hole time, till the finish when the main room closed and Markus & Heather came out of the booth. People have opinions. Just let them be. If you would see me before I would have attacked everyone that said something bad. But to this point it doesnt matter. I went there to have fun and listen to my fav music. Which is TRANCE, and I did I enjoyed myself met Armin & Markus for the first time. All I can say let the good times roll and pay no attention to those that try to bring events down and people that bring negativity. I sometimes think its lame we always try to compare artist to what they did in 2000, or 2001, or 2002. Its 2006. So its time to get with the program, what ever happened then was have fun and whatever happens now is just as fun for me, memories is all we have.
In mainly all the forums on TA "Florida" is one of the formus that literally hates on almost every single big dj that comes. Im a heavy browser of these forums. And I can truthfully say the reviews here can bring too much negativity at times. Thats why I follow many artist schedules and try to find some good reviews from other areas they play almost all the times. |
