Classic of the day? Norman - The Big Deal

I wanted to select something that I hope many are familiar with. And it certainly is a classic, all tunes are quite pleasant on the EP. This is top quality oldschool trance and the way it should be IMO. Anyone else fond of this release? I'll post some samples shortly.. |

I remember the EP, wonderful production from Norman Feller aka Terry Lee Brown Jr. The Big Deal is indeed a great example of good old school trance.
I got the UK release of this where the artist is funnily titled as Stormin' Norman. :D |

Nice one, it seems they've a nickname for all the top "geezas" :p (think "Old man Weathers")

Heh. Never knew he released material as Norman through Influence. Always thought he did that via Suck Me Plasma, and let Influence have the Phasis stuff. As such, can't say I've heard these ones yet.
That Frameless Structure though, mint ain'it eh? |

he's also part of Nore Elle whose track "Silent Storm" i heard on an ambient station.
got the album it's on "Phantom of Life"
some of the best ambient out there :D |

Oh how i loved this track back in the day. It was the 2nd trance vinyl I ever bought (Marco Zaffarano's 'Supernova' on the Harthouse imprint being the first). In 1993 our local recordshop actually carried trance vinyls and this one was just sitting there in the box. The ick and bass in 'The Big Deal' got me hooked immediately.
I was a big fan of everything Norman Feller (and his partner in Arpeggiators Tom Wax) produced for a long while after that. |
