Benny and Half a Dish in SD

It was finally Friday and time for the weekend to start.
After work I head over to Sarah's house to get ready And then head down to SD to Go see Benny. We get there after 10ish.. Meet kris in the parking lot and head down to On Bordway. When we get there we wait for Julie and the line out side is HUGE. But moving pretty quickly. After a quick restoom Break and waiting for to get our first drink we head to the main dance floor. The place is uber packed! So packed that it was unsafe packed. So packed that the place had to be oversold packed but people where still being let in :whip:
They had the DJ booth to the side where the vip was at. But it was not vip it was raised and on the floor. It was the WORST area ever to have a Dj. We could not even get to the front or in the middle. We could not even move at all!

The people where So RUDE! We are all nice people but all the pushing and shoving and pulling got us so upset that we wanted to punch the next person who pushed there way passed us. We could not take it any more and went to the bar towards the back. Kaine and I got on our phones startig to text everyone we knew to get out of there.

Benny was laying down some awesome tracks.. but it was just too crowed to enjoy it. After we got the Ok.. we walked over to 4th and B to see Dubfire (half a dish)
The crowd was a lot nicer and there was actually room to dance on the dance floor. We missed boris set but when Dubfire got on he KILLED it! As mo in Japan who is not in Japan no mo "SICK" He dropped sick tracks. My favorite of the night was "loving arms" (markus and elevation remix :)) At 2am we started seeing the people from on Boardway.

:eyes: Dubfire was on Fire last night! WOW! I loved the dark dirty progressive tracks he played. Some tracks had housey and trancy elements as well. There was a track around 2:45am that was out of this world! AMAZING.

It was around 3:00 we all decided to leave since we parked in a lot that said it was closed at 2am. Thank goodness the cars were there. We took off and went back to riverside.

Oh to the shirtless wonderboys- EWWW! there where a lot on 4th and B. There really should be a rule that says to keep shirts on. I know it gets hot (it was way hot in the club last night) but come on so tacky! EWWW EWWW.. Put the shirt back on, but not to call anyone out DEODERANT TOO PLEASE!!

Also when we get to the bar at 1:20 and you guys stop serving.. :whip: buy my watch there is still time! WTF is up with that.

On Broadway also has this thing of shutting down at 1:30. I am sorry but if the club closes at 2am.. that is when it should close. not start kicking people out at 1:30 :whip:

Also on Broadway there where these 2 WASTED and I mean WASTED girls in line. They could not even stang stight.. they where falling over just standing there. One gril had this nasty White outfit on.. and her friend had this little red badanna as a top! COME ON! EWW EWWW! I do not know how they even got in! We had bets in the group they wouldn't :haha:

Ok enough of the rants. The night was saved by Dave Dean and Dubfire. I had such a great time haning with Kris, Kaine, Julie and Sarah again..

Today Nocturnal!! :D :D

Good to randomly see you and chat for a sec michelle. We had a great time all night, with the exceptions of all the slimeball shoulder shifters like she said^^
Boris' set was ecxcellent, he's a fantastic opener imo. He led into Dubfire's set really nicely. side note: the place was not decked out at ALL as promised by the flyer. i mean come one, I know they have the capabilities to do some cool stuff in that club, and didin't look like any effort was put in, and even some second rate gogo's for a few might have been nice :toothless
regardless, Dubfire came on with some serious tunage. I was stoked to get to hear the Prydz-1983 rmix, I haven't got to hear it live before. He rocked hella dirty as tracks, stuff you just don't hear on the norm. we finally cut out around 3:20
good night for sure.

yeah, fortunatly thats our last show at 4th & B. all the main events will be at belo on fridays now :) Oakenfold is next, then armin, then g&d :)

i thought it was really funny that Benny AND Dubfire both started their sets with Proper Education... but Dubfire went one level higher when he dropped 1983 right after.

Eric prydz might as well be the best thing in dance right now

That’s funny because I thought the same thing. But I took it one step further and (thanks to the Patron & Heineken Lights) I thought Dubfire was Benni. Figured Benni just stopped by to say hi.

:nervous:

;)

Came to my senses eventually.

Anyway On Broadway was as packed as I have ever seen it. I think it's the $5 wells and Jaeger shots. Say what you want about Eventvibe they draw a crowd. A young, beautiful, bad cologne, shiny shirt & drinking crowd.

I liked Benni but I think he would be best at a beach party on Mykonos.

Made my way to 4th & B and caught Dubfire's set. I like Dubfire as a solo act much more than the last two times I have seen Deepdish together. I liked his set but hit a wall around 3:00 and flagged a cab.

Always nice seeing the LA TA's. Thanks for making the trip.

btw the beach was wonderful today. September is the best.

review to come later. still recovering from the weekend. great night though

so now that i'm a bit rested i can give my review.

michelle, kaine and i meet up with kris and head over to on broadway. crazy ass line. finally get in and run in to a wall of people. i have never seen a club that packed, i mean dangerously packed :whip: when you can't even walk from one side to the other and have overly drunk people literally pushing you out of the way it's pretty hard to enjoy yourself.

i'm pretty disappointed b/c i have never seen benny and he was dropping some really great tracks and i would have loved to dance to them but since there was no walking room there was definitely no dancing room.

benny wasn't really great at mixing but the track selection was pure energy and fun and proper education must be the track of the moment b/c i heard it a few weeks ago from paolo mojo, then benny drops it and when we get to 4th and B dubfire drops it. good track though. i love to sing along to it being a teacher and all.

after about an hour of the rudest people i have ever encountered we head over to 4th and B just as dubfire was getting on. friendlier people, bigger venue and more room to dance. see tons of people i know from san diego plus a few TA's from san diego which is always nice!

i definitely enjoyed half a dish better than the whole dish last year at monster massive. dubfire really had the crowd moving and his track selection was really great. totally enjoyed myself and loved hanging with kaine again since he moved to new york.

fun night even with the little set back at on broadway. great seeing CND and partying with robert for his birthday as well as the usual suspects. the drive to riverside wasn't too bad although following kris was like being in a car race, slow down girl ;) and my sleepy passenger michelle. as soon as we hit the 5 she's out but thanks to woody who, first, answers his phone in the middle of the night, and second talked to me all the way to kris's place and kept me awake! you rock. good times, good times.

Yes and a big huge thank you goes out to Kris for opening her house to us that night :) It made everything so much eaiser :)

:haha: I am not the best passager ;) When I drive I am fine.. when I am not I will curl up and fall asleep and wake up right before we get to where we have to go! :haha:
neinerlove
well.. Benny was good.. the crowd can kiss my ass.. with all the pushing and shoving without any excuse me or sorry..... :whip:
I don't know about the $5 drinks either..ours cost $10 ...:wtf:

But being as crowded as it was at On Broadway....... we decided to check out Ali..over at 4th and B... which is awesome cuz he's my favorite half a dish! :D

Caught the last two songs from Boris(good from what i heard) and then Ali came on.. woo hoo~
He was throwing down some good beats!!

For some reason they stopped serving booze at 1:20?? :wtf:
But besides that.. I had a lot of fun dancing and hanging out with my friends.. I think around 3:0O something we decided to leave because I remembered that we parked somewhere that was paid for only till 2am!! :eyes: :nervous:

The drive home ..long..sucky..but worth it!

A HUGE THANK YOU TO KAINE FOR MAKING SD HAPPEN FOR US!! YOU ROCK!:tongue2 :happy2:
