My first pair of Sony 7506s!

Last night, 5 mins before I was finishing, the right cup started cutting out and back in again.

Still on the original ear pads with no tears or rips, and until last night absolutely 100% flawless and perfect since new.
Thats up to 4 nights use per week for 2 years , and about 25 trips across the atlantic when plugged into my laptop.

Am happy with that!

Have a spare (brand new) pair I will be using now until I identify and order the part to fix them.
Will pick up another new pair in NYC next sunday too

Heres to another 2 years for the best headphones I have ever used.:)

Two years is a while- and I'm sure some last for longer.

i've worked in radio stations that still have pairs lying around from years and years and years ago

when something breaks, order a new part and fix it

a proven industry standard workhorse

you're stupid not to own these headphones

^Agreed. My dad's headphones are already 20 years old and still working. Here's how they look like:

edit: I forgot to say out of those 20+ years we only had to repair them once.

That's the main reason I hate Sony headphones of any kind because of that stupid cutting out of the sound and short lifespan. You always end up wiggling the wire for audio until you break it. They may have great sound, but the quality of their products are bad except for televisions. Sony makes great tvs.

Other than cracked pads, I've read that some ppl have had them goin for 20 years.

I still bought senn HD280s instead for the 33dB isolation. It's been a year nearly... still goign strong, no problems. i treat them like utter . Just toss them in my bag. Dunno why ppl complain they're brittle.

I got the ever so breakable Sony v700s and mine are around 4 years old now, maybe older, and I treat them like dirt, how they haven't broke yet I don't know, they been dropped, sat on, crushed in bags, squeezed, and work like a champ ever time, will probably be looking at replacing them before the year is over though.

hahaha, that's pretty much like mine.

Actually i'm lucky, i dont need to extend them much. ALso, i've read about where the cracks happen. I've removed the pad at the top of the head, as they're not needed because the headphones put enough force on ur head to stay up without touchign ur head, and plus u have to extend them way less. I've also done some pre-emptive taping.

They've really lasted quiete well after that.

There's been very few days where i haven't put these on scince i got them. i've even abused the interior by listening to them at volumes just before they start distorting. I've started taking care of them now, as it's been about 9 months, and it's at this time most of them break. I've stopped doing it now. Originally, i just assumed that being so expensive (especially in AUS), they'd take any beating.
