Hey all,
So tonight my camera with its Canon Speedlite 550 EX flash on it fell off it's camera bag (about 4 inches), but at the right angle where the flash's base snapped. (damnit!)
The piece that slides onto the camera to mount it.
Anyhow, I tried using special plastic super duper clue to fix it and it did work for awhile, but a quick jolt of the camera and it snapped again. I think the angle of the break just makes it impossible to glue it solidly back together.
So my question is: Is there a place I can buy spare parts for flashes? I can't find a good place online. If there is a place, please let me know.
It looks like if I could buy the base piece of the flash it could easily be replaced as it's just a couple of tiny screws down there....I just need to the piece.
Would a place like Wolf/Ritz Camera do this? I would rather not go through Canon, supposing they offer this type of repair, for anything as going through places like that usually has horrendous turnaround time. |

You can also call up Canon's Irvine center. You can get any part you want for dirt cheap.

I recently just ordered a 580EX Flash Shoe and a 20D Hotshoe. |
