Saw DJ Pulser, aka one half of Insigma last night. Not only was his set awesome, but he's probably the nicest DJ I've ever talked to. Or maybe I'm just biased, seeing as how he left me with this parting gift:

Luckiest mofo on the continent, I swear. He also gave me a copy of the Incentive Winter Sampler Promo, which has Matt Darey - Beautiful (Pulser remix) which is AWESOME, and Phreaq - Falling (Kuba remix), both amazing vocal tunes.
Pulser's set was awesome. He opened up with Ferry Corsten - Punk, and hammered a lot of ing awesome tunes out like MORPH - Maximum Overdrive, Aquanuts - Deep Sea, Mea Culpa - Don't Say Goodbye, Insigma - Open Your Eyes of course, and a lot of sweet assed whites that I didn't even recognize. I had a staff pass so I was dancing right up by him on the stage the entire night so I saw all of the records he was playing.
I talked to him quite a bit afterwards, asked him when Insigma - Open Your Eyes was getting released (3-4 weeks, so you guys don't have to wait that long anymore =)), talked to him about his new productions, etc etc. I was telling him how sweet Open Your Eyes was and how I tried to track that song down for so long and he just said to me "I'll give you my copy". I was totally floored and he could tell, he was grinning, hehe, and after giving it to me I thanked him profusely and he just said "Thanks for supporting the records". Amazing. He told me that the ONLY people that have the remix on the flip side of the record, the one that Oakie played at Gatecrasher NEC, are DJ Tiesto and Paul Oakenfold, and of course himself. That means I'm the fourth DJ to have this record, lol. I hardly deserve it =) |

Oh and one other interesting tidbit that I picked up is that there's a new Armin van Buuren remix of Pulser - Cloudwalking coming out soon =)
He told me DJ Tiesto did a remix too but they rejected it, because he tried to do something really different with it and they didn't really like it. |

wow an AvB mix of cloudwalking eh? holy !!! did he mention when cloudwalking was going to be released as well or should we assume it would be about the same time as open your eyes. |

He said that he's had the AvB mix of Cloudwalking on CD for a bloody long time now, but mentioned nothing about the release date. He said he was going to play it but he didn't trust his ability to mix in CDs, hehe, which I found somewhat amusing seeing that his mixing was flawless the entire night.
He gave me his personal email address (I tell you, what a ing guy) because I told him I've been trying my hand at productions, and he wants me to send anything I make his way. I'll ask him when the AvB mix of Cloudwalking is coming out for ya. |
