Well since i did not grow up in this time period when th 64 was around, and not know to much how it works i have been lately fond of it for music and fun purposes! so i may buy 2?

about 4 months ago it came up in a conversation but all it was about is how old it was. Few days ago i pick up a copy of future music mag and has a short article on it's SID chip mods etc! anyway that same day i went to a video game store to buy BF2 and started chatting to the guy about various stuff tech related, then i spotted a 64. my eyes lit up i was just amazed for some reason not sure why? so it got me thinking, and by the time the guy was telling me "you know you want it" and im like "not today mate!" but its grown on me on how really cool this old machine is.

now as i would love some hardware in my virtual studio and im buying a motu/focusrite sound card soon! this is a great way of teaching myself and saving myself some extra money for a pretty cool synth.
what do you think? man i saw some pretty cool vids that people do with the 64, although i love the SID music I would just use it as a dedicated synth only!

anyone got any experience with it or anyone could help with which model 64 to look out for?

kinda got to catch up on the technology lol
:stongue:

man talk about building a synth on a budget and there is still life left in this beast!

dirty driving trance with the c64 taking the lead (with effects of course)

that would be ing madness

or even making trance on the c64, that would be even more madness

though what u can do on it would be rather limited

I love, love, love the C64 and the SID chip... always have.... since I was like 4, lol.

By the way, those links are freakin' sweet... looks like I might have to dust off the C64 and start putting it to use. ;)

Kinda strange that my first dive into producing with hardware might be done with the oldest piece of hardware I already have, ha!

Heh! Loved it back then. Loading games from cassette and waiting a fair bit to get it loaded.
Don't touch that chunky keyboard or joystick tho, else you'd have to load it all up again! :D
And that nostalgic lightblue screen.
Anyway, if you love that SID sound,
you might want to have a look at reFX quadraSID.

Wow. That Midibox SID link looks really fascinating. Take a listen to what it can do:
