Harvest Festival - Any Good?

I'm thinking about going to the Harvest Festival on the 16/17, but wanted to hear the thoughts of those of you who have attended in the past.

I figured that this is the place for honest opinions...

Kindly let me know what your past experience has been like with this event. Are the DJs good? What kind of crowd does it draw? Is the $46 ticket price worth it?

Thanks in advance.

Expect the Promise Cherry Beach/ Om festival kinda crowds. Its definitely an awesome vibe, tho I haven't gone to the relatively new location (last time I went was 2 or 3 yrs ago). Definitely a positive vibe you won't find at most other events, certainly not in a club. And you can camp there, too.

really really dumb question, but what is the line up like?

The short story: don’t even hesitate – GO!!

I went to the new location last year. Without exaggeration, I can say that this is a totally awesome event – many people say it is hand’s down the best EDM event of the year. It attracts people that attend only a few events a year, and these people come back year after year. It’s on a working farm in a private and beautiful setting. It is extremely well organised. There is a ginormous bonfire, 3 soundstages (psy/tech-trance, tech house and dub), camping, swimming, food and - most importantly - the best party vibe you’ll find anywhere in southern ontario.

The crowd? Definitely not all hippies. The crowd is pretty diverse actually and I’d say it tends towards the better educated end of the spectrum. I’d say there are more professionals than anything else and judging from the rolling stock I saw in the parking lot….. uhhh, this crowd is fairly well-heeled. ;) But yes, there is an “earthy” element to a number of the guests. It just makes the party even better, if you ask me.

harvest Festival is lots of fun!
If you can, GO! they are also looking for volunteers this year! should be good - if you have been to a promise cherry beach party it is VERY similar - but with camping - and a permit ;) There a re a lot of hippies that attend and just pray that there is good weather -

enjoy yourself!

i went 2 years ago with Rich, it was ok. the psy was really good. but there were ALOT of hippies.

if it wasnt so expensive i'd go again. its mostly locals. so i wuoldnt say that its worth the money. it would beif it were like 25-30$ but 50ish is a bit steep for locals.

Easily one of the best events of the year, and I'm not saying that just coz I'm playing ;)

OK, you people who are used to big name DJs and superclubs might be wondering what the ticket price is all about. Let me break it down for you - this party is about much more than just DJs. It's an entirely different experience! You're on a working farm with some gorgeous stage setups, a kitchen (usually delicious complimentary food on offer), plenty of activities, and all sorts of special added bonuses... wait til you see that bonfire go up! Last year they had people done up in fancy waiter outfits handing out glasses of champagne as the flames roared into the sky. In the morning, they brought the animals out to feed, and nuns walked through the crowd handing out condoms. This time out they're having a team of acrobats put on a performance, and I sure they have much more up their sleeve. Maybe these extras don't count with some of you, but if you're seeking something different and exciting, don't miss out on Harvest...

Seiously, how many boat cruises run about $40 for only 2 local dj's sometimes? You get more of a unique experience than what you'd get on a cookie cutter boat cruise. A LOT of community effort goes into this party, and it only happens once a year. Go if u can.
