PCI-Express DAW issues

I am just about to upgrade my machine to a an AMD 64 4600 Dual core with PCI-Express and was wondering if anybody knows if the issues that there are/were regarding PCI-E and Audio Workstations are still a problem or have they been solved?

That's the last thing I read about it.
It doesn't bother me that much.
Just focus more on making bleeps and noises
instead of this and you'll be fine.
And dunno if I read right, but the problems with
Dualcores are as good as non-existant.
