** Scratch that I proper like that Apex track, what you use for the main riff??? **

Anywhere I can listen to your Drizzly track cos can't find it on any online MP3 stores?

Thanks mate, pleased you like the tunes! The main lead synth in Apex was Pro53, and the other one before that as its building up and in the first half of the breakdown is synth1. :)

The lead in Sector 7 was a Virus C

To be honest im not so sure where Metropolitan/Total Eclipse/There & Back Again are available... apart form drizzly's own website. Its actually on drizzly's sub label Illuminate, which might have been why you couldnt find it.

Thanks again for the kind words, much appreciated!

And to the guy who thinks im an ass for what i said.. sorry if it came across in that way, it wasn't mean as a put down. They're a good sound, im a big fan of Sander's stuff, hes an incredible producer. So it certainly wasnt me looking down on the fact you can find them in a sample pack. I've occasionally used a subtle one myself

let's face it, loops are used, also by your favorite producers :D

But they don't completely define the sound in most cases.

You can hear that really clearly in Sander's new tune 'back by any demand' :)
He also uses alot of "raped" vocals that add really well on the percussion

U really are a ing idiot aren't you???

I bumped this topic because I for one would like to know how SVD gets his sound and in particular the "fullness" to his percs. Michael gives us an answer and you pipe up with this . Wot a ing prick u really are!

BTW is it Vengeance Essential Club 2 u mean Michael, as you said trance thats all?

tech percs are almost always BASED around a 2 beat repeat, so you have the sequence repeating twice in a bar. try working in half a bar and looping that, you'll get what i mean.

like pjotr said, in most tech tracks its all about using a sub bass and making the rest of the low freq out of percussion sounds. normally in trance you;d obviously cut them at like 200hz or whatever, but in techno you let em go right down to 100(ish). OBVIOUSLY... if youre going for that electro/tech whatever sound, then yeah, cut them higher.

I always start by mapping in a rythym of just kick, snare and maybe 4 or so loud, big, deep, congo sounds. Then add your main open high hat thats really sharp and doesnt have a long decay. You gotta keep a lot of your sounds short, or the mix just turns to noise lol. Next, i add all my "perc" sounds - those random samples that sound percussiony but arent exactly a drum, and arent exactly a shaker either. Just look where theres holes in the pattern, and fill them up with percs. After that I do 2 or so shaker/high hat loops myself. THEN, i load in tonnes of loops to make sure every little gap has a sound in it. Then route the whole lot to a compressor, and compress the out of it :D

Also, filter out your highs heaps.
Also, put a stereo typical 909 ride on each kick lol :D

When i'm not lazy, i'll post a step by step of this.

Ditto! Would make a nice tutorial, that I'm sure would interest quite a few people on here.

there is pretty much a tutorial right there by Echosystem.......like he said the main thing is to make the percussion pattern loop every two beats with techy kind of stuff......the thing about sanders style is its a bit 'harder'......so you must use harder sounding samples...which is where im not very good at it.......i think those guys might actually use claps or snares for percussion sounds cuz they sound hard....
