i cant seem to produce these days must be the depression of known its coming into winter soon. anyway i need to know what to add next in this track. i think my let down in many of my tracks is missing something in the arrangement. so if anyone can think what i should do next please let know.

i dont need opinions on eqing or mastering as its obviously not going to be done until the track is finished.:tongue2 but for the sensible people, what do you think?

Thanks!

First, you need to lower your levels. Your ears will die if you continue producing lik this:mad:, and you kill the sounds, and it you wont be able to master it. If you do this, i can do the first mastering for you. Im no pro, but i have the gear to do it and i know the basics.

Then i think you should work a little more with the subbass, cus i feel it doesnt work that tight with the kick.

Other than that i think you are making progress :D

I think ur problem is that u do everything by rules, relax a bit and produce what sounds good. If u cant produce or lack inspiration take a break for a week or two :)

limevision: your sig reminds me of limewire :P

yeah, i agree with lime there... sometimes ya just gotta relax on yourself for a bit and go offboard, discover some new techniques (they don't come by rules, they come by trial & errors).

see from i started producing ive been djing less and less and that got me into it in the first place. maybe i need to hit the tables for a while again.

barry do you hate msn now or something? lol get on and i'll help you out really quick. I'm trying to fix some audio syncronization with the arrangement video.

Yep, do reduce your levels as substorm said too. I know you're probably just sketching out rough ideas, but try to make a habit out of getting your levels at least roughly right from the start. Get your kick peaking at -8.0 dB and you'll have all the headroom you need to layer the other instruments on without having the sound altered by overboosting the volume. Also bring out the mids (synths) a bit more to balance the spectrum out from the bass-heavy and harsh-treble you have now.

Sorry that wasn't much of a sensible post, but I really can't stress the importance of levels enough.
