Sept 4 - NEWS RELEASE - ICE NIGHTCLUB ASSAULT + BATTERS KEOKI
Imagine the beating of Rodney King, and try to put Superstar DJ Keoki in the shoes of Rodney... it almost doesn't compute. ICE nightclub maliciously beat Superstar DJ Keoki to the ground Rodney King style atapx. 4am on the morning of September 4, 2006, ICE was a nightclub Keoki was used to being treated as royalty. Keoki has played for this nightclub at least 5 times in the past and has been flown out to Vegas and put up in a hotel by the nightclub numerous times. ICE also had their tour-bus advertising Keoki with his name and image all over the outside of the bus as marketing.
Keoki was simply dancing and signing autographs for his fans, when out of nowhere he was grabbed with extreme force and thrown out of the club. With over a dozen witnesses, they strapped on handcuffs very aggressively and threw Keoki to the ground. The purpose of the encounter was because Keoki wasn't wearing a shirt, Keoki hardly ever wears a shirt and shows off his tatoos when at ICE and has never had an issue with it in the past. His face was kicked multiple times as well as his stomach by more than five different club bouncers at once. Immediately, the police were called and dispatched Clark County Fire Department and Paramedics. Keoki had bruises all over from the extreme force, his arms were inflamed from the roughness of the handcuffs, and he was bleeding from his forehead, back, and arms.
Keoki is scheduled to play at ICE on 9-22 at the Vegas Music Conference official event. After these circumstances, there is speculation he will never support ICE nightclub nor be apart of any contributions/events/marketing with the club.
Keoki was completely sober and did not warrant this type of extreme force used against him. He speculates it may have been the nightclub bouncers not knowing who he was, and the intimidation of his tattoos all over his body. In any case, ICE is sure to pay for this incident both in legal costs as well as tearing along relationship with the Superstar DJ. "No one should be treated like that, I lost my watch, and Christian dior shades, this shouldn't happen to anyone, and yet it happened to me" -Keoki.
Later that morning he recieved a voicemail from ICE management informing him three of the bouncers were fired that evening. He woke up with a damaged rib cage, lacerations to the face, arm, stomach and back; as well as multiple bumps on his head from it being kicked in. A Nuerologist is scheduled to do an evaluation shortly. In the meantime, ICE is not a place Keoki will ever call home or be apart of in anyway and Keoki requests his fans to remain loyal to him and as far away from the ice nightclub as possible.

| What the is that all about? Total B.S. I am sure Keoki is going to shove an attorney so far up their ass that even their kids will be paying the settlement. |

| yeah the story sounds kinda sketchy though, he gets his face and ribs kicked in by 5 bouncers for dancing sober without a shirt on? then he's cuffed? what's really going on??? you'd think the bouncers would recognize his tats since he plays there shirtless regularly. keoki was definitely brutalized here, but something's missing... |

Yeah, there is no way that is the real deal.. I have been to ICE many times and seen them kick out many poeple and they are never rough, unless the person they are romving gives them a hardtime. Ain't nobody gonna beat the crap out of someone for the hell of it, there is ALWAYS a reason. Especially in this type of public display.
The funny thing for me, is that the bouncers at ICE are probably the nicest I have ever delt with. WTF! |
