Not genius in its plausibility, genius in its comedic value.
I'm picturing the dude having a freak out in the middle of the mall. Awesome. |

great opporunity to rethink your decision to go with CDMA Telus, and consider switching over to GSM.. especially if you want a nicer looking phone ;)

| There's no way you're getting a new phone for free. Lie your ass off I guarantee they've heard it all. I know I have. ;) |

How about face up to the fact you are a cluts and buy a new phone and don't be a thief. If you can't afford a new phone then learn to live without one and start saving your money so you can have your precious phone. |

+1.
It was your carlessness that dropped the phone. So you really need to face up to your responsibilty and get a new one.....the proper way. |

well i work for telus mobility now in vancouver here, they wont get you a free phone, no inside trick will, most likely will give you options for a refurbished phone which you can buy.
P.S- Telus could care less if you broke the contract, either way they will collect 20$/month on their fees for the rest of their contract. Costs telus only 30$ to lose a customer, specially if your a very small to moderate user under 100$. |

sorry to hear about your loss. CDMA / IDEN providers are for the loss hugetime. your options are slim and getting a new phone is nearly as slim (for free).
a retail/instore/booth will do dick all but hand you a phone and say, you better call in. if they do more, then you lucked out hugetime.
you will probably have to speak with your phones insurnace company (THAT IS, if you got insurance on your phone. which by the sounds of it you did not...) whcih means you'll probably have to beg to either ACCOUNT SERVICES (RETENTION DEPARTMENT) [the department u call to cancel with]
or
CUSTOMER CARE [and in speaking with CARE you'll probaly have to speak with a supervisor, because i highly doubt a regular phone agent has the ability to just REPLACE your phone. and if they do, i would call back 5 minutes later and ask to have your NOTES read to you to confirm that they did infact do SOMETHING, and not just tell you yes yes yes and then click.
my suggestion on your method of going about this.
CALL CUSTOMER CARE.
-explain the situation, tell them this was a freak accident etc etc you cannot afford to buy a new phone. you DO plan to stay with them, you just need a replacement, what can they do?
+if they come back with dick all, get fed up (POLITELY) and ask to speak to a supervisor (always note to keep calm, seem angry but handle yourself professionally, or they wont help you period)
re-explain the problem. if that goes no where. tell them that this is just too much for you, threaten to cancel, and speak to ACCOUNT SERVICES / RETENTION department.
ACCOUNT SERVICES has power. these guys in alot of cases have more power then CUSTOMER CARE SUPERVISORS.
RE RE EXplain the problem, tell them that if u dont have a phone, your going to cancel your service due to lack there of help, and switch to FIDO/ROGERS.
always noting to be calm and professional.
if that doesnt help.
EBAY a new phone. and goodluck.
fido/rogers FTW

dude i have no idea why your saying telus/bell is losing big time infact they both have majority of the market share in cell phones, and most people who travel prefer CDMA all across North America. SInce GSM doesnt cover all areas, CDMA is by far very clear technology and very fast compared to GSM.
Infact telus has a very big chunk of MIKE in canada . |

i never said they were losing big time. i said they were for the loss.
there is a difference. FOR THE LOSS is a personal opinion. not a fact of statistics.
GSM a.k.a. world phones clearly destroy any cdma iden technology as far as options go hands down. in my opinion the only benifits to cdma / iden is the walkie talkie feature, and thats not even relaly a big thing here in canada. Coverage is a subjective catagory based on where you live so i wont devulge into that.
and my name is wayne
not dude.
also GSM coverage world wide pwnts cdma and iden put together. they are however expanding. |
