how do u ensure that your gear doesn't get f'ed up? people are gonna be drinking, etc...so there will be guys who wanna fool around with your jog wheel, knobs, etc...plus the possibility of liquid getting on your equipment or possibly stolen. what can u do to make sure this doesn't happen?

well i always set up a no food or drinks within 10 yards of electrical equipment policy (that includes djs dont lean over the decks when drinking). if someone wants to about with ur turntable and they dont know what there doing tell them to off only allow people on them that know how to mix. also before u even turn the decks on and start mixing tell everyone that if anything gets broke there paying for it no questions u wont find anyone messing with it then. Its unlikely that someone will steal any of ur equipment anyway especially as theres probably someone mixing on it all night they will get seen.

If you have a table you take with you to put your gear on this is what I would do. Make yourself a little screen for the table with a sheet of plywood and a few hinges. Cut a length of plywood to run down the front of your table and attatch it to two shorter lengths of plywood to run down the sides of your table with the hinges. Spraypaint it black.

Also a skirt for the table could help to keep people away from all of the wires and cords.

Cases..put them in cases...both your mixer and your CDJs or TTs.
