So I thought the Wickerman was supposed to be scary. ...if you're like me then when going to a scary movie one expects to at least have the hair on your neck go up once or twice. ...The wickerman will not achieve this.
however, if you are in the mood for a good laugh at what is arguably the worst made hollywood movie of the year then by all means go see this. There were 10 year olds who were laughing throughout most of the film and I couldn't blame them one bit.
Bad acting, weak plot line and a village full of women who are only capable of one facial expression top off the prime reasons this movie is a flop. Hearing a kitten purr on your lap as you pet it is more threateningly scary than the wickerman. At least snakes on a plane made fun of itself for being rediculous... the producers of the wickerman actually thought they were creating a thriller.
Save your money for a real comedy.
That said, the Protector (we had to see another movie to redeam our movie experience last night) with Tony Jaa also has horrible acting but more than ample bone breaking kick ass martial arts to make up for it. So if you decide to see the wickerman make sure you have a back up movie (which starts shortly after the wickerman ends) so you can at least have a good time at one movie that night.
TOTA: you have been warned. if you choose to see the wickerman and feel like an idot afterwards I will simply point and laugh while saying I told you so. :P |

Ahhh...I see. After me being the movie fanatic and picking all the movies we go see...most of them being scary movies...and Cale quivering like a little baby...we've decided that we'll alternate who getse to pick.
My last one was Pirates of the Carribean...amazing...we both liked it...and I loved starinug at Johnny Depp for 2 and a half hours.
His choice...Snakes on a Plane...the only time I even cracked a smile was when everyone was rushing up to the top floor of the airplane and the railing broke and everyone fell. Other than that...I'm sure glad I didn't pay for the movie!
My nxt choice...Crank...again we both loved it. The movie was great and I again got to stare at a hottie (Jason Stham) for an hour and a half.
Looks like I should be picking hte movies from now on! (He's lucky there hasn't been a good scary movie out in a few months) |

my relationship is the same way when it comes to movies. She always wants the scary ones and I don't like paying $ for someone to yell "BOO" at me and have me my pants.
If I'm paying/picking the movie then I would much rather laugh or feel good about something at the end of it. Scary movies trigger negative feelings (ie fear) so I've never got why people enjoy them, yet she still drags me out to them. I always feel cool at the end if I made it all the way through without jumping out of my seat when some scary obvious kid jumps out at you on screen. :) |

Oh my, Cale's gonna kick my ass if he sees this post!! Hahaha
I get scared too....but I LOVE the feeling. The two of us together though, we'd totally die if we were in a scary movie. No one would be the couragous one.

I think some scary movies are pretty corny...I still love 'em though. There have been some pretty good ones in the past little while though. The Hills Have Eyes was definatly one of my faves. Especially b/c Sloth from the Goonies was in it (literally). |
