Sup everyone! After spending a lot of time on Summery my 'trance stomach' was full, but I felt hunger for some darker sounds. This mix is varied, has the best build and flow so far IMHO. Proud of it. As always, the cover and title are symptomatic. Atrum means dark, dusky, obscure in Latin. If you look closely at the full cover, you'll hopefully get the proper mood. So here's how it goes: First sounds of Martin Roth are important. You can match it with the cover... dark, foggy, restless, anxious... Then a beautiful For Your Eyes Only. With Orkan we get into deep progressive. Awesome transition into Backlash (/me immodest) Housey GTR, then Damager - old but good. Cold Storage equals towarding change of styles - trance and tech. Had a real take off when Ronald played it in Poland. It is in fact an early turning point of the mix. After that Mike Koglin with his 1:1.618. BTW. Do you know what that title means? It's a magic ratio, which causes inter alia that snow flakes are hexagonal. Read more here :) Harmonic is the next track. One of my favourites. I am really keen on Signum's style. Then goes Arisen in Parc remix. Fits here brilliantly. I love the original for the melody, but this one explodes with energy. Rogue keeps the flow well. I think this part of the mix is my favourite. Next track (Silence & Motion) I discovered while listening to Incalescent by Metatron. True killer :) After that the mix becomes pure tech. Direct Dizko and Whatever. Weird tunes. A beauty for the end. New promo mix by Maori. Total destruction. Full stop.

01 Schiller feat. Jette Von Roth - Der Tag (Martin Roth Remix)
02 Mike Foyle - For Your Eyes Only (Orkan Blushes Remix)
03 Dan Stone - Made In Bahrain (Orkan Remix)
04 Gareth Emery - Backlash
05 Gareth Emery - Tribalism
06 Scott Mac - Damager 02 (Mac Zimms Remix)
07 Zehavi And Rand - Paroxetine (Inner And Outer Remix)
08 Ronald Van Gelderen - Cold Storage (Original Mix)
09 Mike Koglin - 1:1.618 (Original Mix)
10 Signum - Harmonic (Original Mix)
11 Arksun - Arisen (Parc Remix)
12 Re:Locate - Rogue (Original Mix)
13 Patrick Markus - Silence & Motion (Sassot Remix)
14 S.O. Project - Direct Dizko (Sander Van Doorn Remix)
15 Ferry Corsten - Whatever (Marcel Woods Remix)
16 The Police - Message In The Bottle (Maori Remix)

wasn't able to sit down and listen to the whole thing through straight to the end until this afternoon. but my impression from start to finish is simply "WOW". once again you have put together a fine set buddy. "atrum" is what this set is called and its how it feels. i feel that you accomplished exactly what you set out to do and i think this sort of flow is what marks between what's a "good" dj and a "bad" one. track selection is great btw, where did you purchase the first one? no beatmatching problems, no inconsistancies that i noticed...are you an ableton dj or do you use decks and mixer as well?? either way you made a fine set which is as usual, very danceable ;). looking forward to the next one man. cheers

You’re a gifted dj Mon-Soon, but when it comes to track selection we don’t quite meet eye to eye. To be more specific I liked 3 tracks in total. Two of them were of techy nature (tracks 5 and 6), while the third one was a trance gem by Mike Koglin; track 9. The melody of 1:1.168 reminded me of Schiller - Das Glockenspiel which just did it for me. On the mixing side of things all of the transitions are perfect which is why I didn’t bother going into track by track detail. The most unnoticeable transitions however would be between tracks 4 to 5 and 7 to 8. Let’s just say I had to rewind the set to make sure they were separate tracks. That’s how seamless they are. In regards to the track selection again, if I were to rate your set based on that it would probably be a seven out of ten. Different strokes for different folks I always say. All in all, I hope there are no hard feelings with what I said and as always happy mixing my friend!

OH MAN WHAT A SICK MIX MON-SOON!

Sorry I didn't reply sooner. I almost missed it. Anyway such an awesome energetic, deep and dark treat of a trance mix. Really is very well done right down to every last transition and programming The theme is also well done as always. Your getting better and better at finding your theme and infusing your mix with it. That is my favorite thing about your mixes which is why I think I didn't like your megamix too much. It didn't seem to have a clear one imo. Anyway I'm so glad your back with this one. Only thing I thought could have been better was the trackselection simply because there was too much. I realize it's definately something you like to do though is cram as many killer tunes as you can, which is great and def isn't something that would ruin the mix. But I think if you were more focused on flow it would've been a bit differen't. I find that if you focus more on what tracks will sound good together, what will cause better flow, you'll def get in those awesome tracks and the result will be richer. You are very talented and are really on the top-tier as a DJ for me personally so my critisisms come respectfully from a love for your sound and talent.

I really love the build of the mix. The intro track and the begining are excellent as well as the techy/dark finish and the Message in a Bottle mix by Maor was an excellent encore type track. Great work MoN-SooN. Will love to hear you in the future as always.

Sorry there's a long time between my frist comment and this one. I can't say anything that hasn't already been said. I think that mixes should either be themed or tell a story somehow. Your whole concept was beautifully, and skillfully done. The first track introduces the set perfectly, and from there its just pure gold. I think that I saw the meaning of life midway through:) . Seriously, though as a relatively new DJ I found this set inspiring. Thank you Mon-SooN for sharing this one with us.
