I was just testing reverb plugins yesterday. What I came up with was, that there are no good sounding light reverbs. SIR was the best, but it's far from light. |

Do you think using the cpu-heavy reverb (roomworks i think) in cubase as a send effect would eat alot of cpu power? |

imho the best native reverb is arts acoustic and it doesn't need too much cpu in my opinion. but, well i'm currently not limited with cpu power.. |

Audioease Altiverb.
Not that light on the CPU, but absolutely the best sounding native reverb out there. It's convolution based btw.

Every convoluted reverb is cpu-heavy.
SIR with some good waves is quite okay. |

RoomWorks takes CRAZY ammounts of cpu, especially really long ones.

SIR is probably the best sounding verb you can get over, but if you don't have that power check out waves reverbs, they are okay.
But if you have the possibiliy to hook a hardware verb up it will rock any software out there tbh.
Todays software reverbs still have a lot to live up to when it comes to quality. |

Well acutally i have a virus rack and i was wondering if there was a way for me to make my comps audio pass into my virus, then back into my soundcard to get recorded, so i could use the viruses effects, filter etc. That would be awesome coz the reverb on the virus and the phaser are godly.
I have a m-audio audiophile 2496 soundcard.... |
