of all the design concepts they proposed to build what was in place of the WTC, not one really had me sold. If anything, i thought they should rebuild both towers in their identical form. the fact that both towers would once again stand is probably the greatest statement they could make to those who brought it down.

It only seems like this happened not long ago, but its been 5 years.

I was in first period Drafting class, and heard about some planes crashing in NY. Eventually by 3rd period we were watching CNN on the tv in a religions of the world class.

Spend most of that day watching the events infold.

A beautiful site I just saw:

From my apartment you can clearly see the lights going up, where the towers used to stand. A whole bunch of very young kids are out on the street, pointing up, going "wow, what are those for?"

They are too young to understand or even too young to have witnessed the horror. The view from my apartment is beautiful, but the symbolism hurts like hell. I wonder how their mom explained it?

As a New Yorker, I never want to have to go thru that again. So many people I know have been affected. 3 of my classmates in my class tonight also told personal stories: one lost her father, and two, yes I said TWO, were in the towers and made it out.

Ironically, the one man can not remember very many memories of the day. His brain has blocked it out. This is what made him intersted in psychology. He quit his corporate job and is now in clinical classes with me.

The lady remembers a body splattering on the ground 50 feet from her, as people jumped out of the windows and she was running out of the building. That was an awful story to hear. :( :(

Another woman was working in the building next door and had her office windows blown out by the collapse.

It still lives on in all of our memories. The horror of that day....it makes some of us pissed of as hell, some of us sad, and some of us joyful as a result of coming together as a city.

I believe that was me who told you after my mom called me to tell me what was going on. Crazy, crazy day.

I can remember watching nothing but the news for like the next 2 weeks or so.

Chris (jungle fever) and I had a chance to visit "ground zero" on Saturday. We also saw the Fire Fighters Memorial service that was held at St. Patrick's Cathedral on Sunday.

To be at the site, watch the people, look at the pictures, and stand in awe of such destruction brings so many and such strong emotions...

So true Emz...this is what they should do.

Listening to JOhn Stewart's cast there was something else .. alot of respect for a comedy person to go on air like that.. and just toss his feelings out .. much respect

R.I.P to all that have fallen in the name of 9/11 and other "terrorist" attacks .. Including our troops in the middle east who have given their lives for the cause of freedom

R.I.P ! :(
