I completely agree with you and was actually in the process of typing a similar response, but seeing the reaction now... will no longer post the entire thing. Last week Ryan and I attended the wedding of my high school friend whose father died in the WTC. His name is on the list tiesto14 posted, but honestly a post in this forum really won’t mean anything to her. What does matter is that I was her friend before the tragedy and have been there for her ever since. It’s not that we’re in denial of 9/11 or that we’ve forgotten. It’s already part of our lives.

(now that the main post is edited and my posts were quoted) just so ppl dont think im a terrible person, i was primarily reacting to a statement (thats not there ne more), not the list of people (that is there now)... just thought id clarify b4 i get people thinking i had strong views solely as a reaction to the list of victims

yo, no doubt it was a horrific event that took place 5yrs ago. but like eco mentioned previously, the media has took that and ran with it like its theirs ! didnt we have enuff 'non stop' news coverage of the whole thing for like a week straight ? how many more times are we gonna see the plane going thru the ing towers and the towers crumbling ?

do we really need to be reminded of such horrible sight ?

honest thing is PEOPLE KINDA WANT TO see that again. thats why it is always brougt up. i personally cant stand it.

tiesto14, good lookin out on the thread and the fact that you strictly stressed about the lost ones WITHOUT posting pics of that day etc etc etc.

i didnt know anyone personally whos lives were lost that day, but i was @ akko's place [w4th & 6th ave] at the time. it was a day i would never forget where words werent enuff to describe the feeling it created inside me as the day passed.

remember all those "missing" pesonals ALL over the city especially downtown ? that was ing scary and sad at the same time.

rest in peace to every soul that was lost on 911 and condolences to all the families.

It would be wonderful to turn a portion of that area into a memorial park facing the river of course where we as new yorkers can go and sit, walk along the wall, and even just spend time there maybe laying in the grass similar to battery park just in an open area with the new WTC right behind it. I would think that'd be a superb chill out spot and a really nice way to a continued tribe to those who have lost their lives.

Could also mean yet another tourist attraction to litter the City Hall area!

StanVoid told me there were conspiracy theorists down at ground zero today (and now) yelling at families who lost loved ones, teling them to question their government for the truth and all that bla bla crap.

I swear i want to go down there and confront them....i am seriously contemplating it.:whip:

Yeah, because confronting them would really help the situation. Personally, I don't agree with them protesting either, but is that really going to help.

Also, what would you say to relatives of the deceased who support the conspiracy theorists? Would you throw eggs at them, too?

I agree 100%..."People KINDA WANT TO see that again"? I couldn't help but laugh at that part. BUT, your'e right.. They made what 3 movies based off 9/11 didn't they? As if the subject wasn't sensitive enough. And let me not get started on CNN, yo.

What, you're not streaming the Pipeline coverage of 9/11/01 all day?

3 movies and a tv movie i think, its absolutely ridiculous... i mean i would think that at least they would have the logic to show the victims families who went through this horrific event some respect instead of exploiting this day, but yes rest in peace to all the people that have passed on that day...

man, i didn't even know anyone personally that was a victim of 9-11 (or even victims' family for that matter) but i couldn't even watch them reading the names at the memorial service this morning.. tears came straight away.

I didn't have time to go up to ground zero this year. Classes have really consumed my time.

Such a horrible day indeed. I'll never forget.
