As such hundreds of stingrays have been known to frequent this location which started off as opportunistic feeding. Eventually this site attracted regular tourist visits to feed and observe these animals such that nowadays the sheer magnitude that show up and play with tourists can only survive with their interactions/feedings with tourists. These visits happen on a daily basis completely uneventful unless some dumbass steps on one of them. But as a whole there is a completely dependant relationship that the Carribean stingrays have developed. As a matter of fact, when the hurricanes hit Cayman, responsible dive operators went out and fed the stingrays because without the normal flow of feeding from tourists they would have died from starvation due to the dependancies we've imposed upon them. They really are intelligent, gentle fishes. |
