We did that once at Monsoons here in Collingwood. My buddy Nathan is/was the DJ there and he a singer Dana Manning who was also playing there tried this out, and it was very successful. But they had planned it out together before hand, the vinyl that Nathan would play and that she would sing her lyrics over.
Id be interested in seeing this done consistently over a set to a wide range of tracks, esp if the DJ was doing it him/herself!
