Fluke - Puppy

I've never really been into Fluke, even though they've seemed good enough. Apart from "Slap It" (AKA: Zion, Another Kind of Blues) I'd not been much interested in their work. However, I bought Puppy pretty much out of a desire to listen to something new, not knowing what to expect.

A great album, as it turns out. Stunning. They flick through every style and influence they please and on paper it wouldn't work, but it really does.

Apart from discussing the album, this thread exists so I can ask: is the rest of the Fluke discography this good?

I've only heard snapshot. I thought it was pretty good, but for some reason never bothered to look at the rest of the album.

Check it out- great stuff.

Hi SJ

I'm a big fan of the Fluke boys, if you're interested in hearing some of their stuff we've got samples of a lot of their tracks here:

Go spam somewhere else, please.

Anyway,
Fluke is always quality. I haven't checked out the whole album though, maybe I should.

Erm, how is that spamming? He asked if the rest of their stuff was that good, and I pointed him to a page where he could here some samples of their earlier stuff and read all about the band.

Just trying to be helpful.

Fluke is indeed quality, varying between several genres. Apart from the obvious ones, i think the breaks track 'Reeferendrum' on the 1997 album Risotto is one of my favs from them. Grreat!

Everyone I talk to seems to be in the same boat I was- they've heard one track and enjoyed it, but never bothered checking out the album. It must be a common Fluke syndrome.

Buy the album, people! It's great.
