If I had the money to purchase a new car a mazda would definitely be my (affordable) choice. The MS is a sick looking car too. :eyes: |

| I never liked the hatchback Mazda 3. Yet I find myself liking this. Have they changed the design, or is it just growing on me? :p |

(btw, not critiquing their engines, which consistently rank among the very best, if not being THE best...but the BMW twin-turbo setup adds a measely 70 peak hp to the base inline six? Isn't that a bit...weak? Meh...I'd like to see power curves for both cars before really commenting much...I don't know anything really about the new 335).

The reasoning behind the twin turbo setup on the 3.0 six was to get V8-like power with 6-cyl fuel economy. It is a well refined piece of perfection.

It's a good thing that BMW revamped their X-Drive system, because in previous years it was a huge pile of . |

Buick should just re-make these, and run this picture as advertisements everywhere:

Can we say torque? |

and I'm sure we'll see bigger aftermarket turbo apps...I can't see that engine being tapped out at 300hp. But car makers still have to keep silly things like fuel economy and refinement on their mind in that segment :D

indeed...sube owned them in that regard.
oh well...I guess there are two ways I look at it...which car would you rather HAVE and which car would you rather DRIVE. I would see owning the BMW as being the more sensible choice from a few standpoints...but for pure illogical pleaseure, I would rather drive the STi ;)
same with the 350Z...it's a blast to drive...but if I was to own a Nissan...I'd choose the G35 over it in a heartbeat.
DanR...I think the Mazda 3 hatch looks like ass too...the sedan looks sooooo much better.
god, I miss driving :( |

| You guys are all nuts, the 3 sedan looks like squished , the hatch is just so... right. |

The BMW AWD system holds nothing next to Audi. |

You have any decent info on the Mazda6 by any chance? I`m just wondering. I think I`ll be getting one in a couple of weeks. Not the MS version unfortunately. I4. |

and the Sube system is better than both ;)
I support the Mazda6 purchase...but no chance of getting the V6? I think they look great and really are as good or better than anything else in that class for the same price. |

| Well I drove it a couple of times, and yeah, for that class and price, I think its the most distinctive one there. I'd like to get the V6, the insurance isn't that much of a difference. I'm kind of worried about the engine though. I want manual shift, and the V6 is a Ford engine (so my research says), and I didn't hear too many good things regarding the Ford engine/manual transmission combo. |
