now there's a song from a while back. reminds me of my days in south jersey going to school and hitting up the clubs in philly (shampoo sunday nights) before i realized that NY was the place to go.

its weird how over here everyone is so apprehensive to use the word "rave." i understand what everyone means when they say rave versus "...whatever else you could call it..." but thats just the problem... i wouldn't know what else to refer to going to see any dj that spins electronic music, other than perhaps clubbing, which could mean a lot of different things as well. i've really only ever noticed this from people around here, as in europe and canada, anything involving electronic music is a rave event of sorts and it is not necessarily a bad thing to refer to it as so.

its all semantics. In this area, every event that is billed as a rave is very different from a regular club night. Rave's are not synonomous with club nights really...they usually have massive lienups with as many as like 30 djs, they generally attract a much much younger crowd, the music is usually much much harder, and there are more freaky people at raves. I'm not saying those are bad things, just very different from Crobar on a Friday night.

i realize the distinction, i just find it pecular that "rave" isn't more of a general term than it actually is here. i'm just saying the way i see it is that they are all raves really, just some with a bit more taste/sophistication. its not important really... just something i've picked up on

Um anyway...rave or not, I don't feel right not paying for a ticket. Well, I of course bought mine anyway the SECOND I heard the great Christopher Lawrence shall grace us with his presence. You people don't have $20? How about sacrificing a beer or two? Anyway, I'll see all the usual dorks there, including myself.

LOL nice contradiction there...if you feel they're "robbing" you, then don't buy it!!!!!

I'm just not one to get there before midnight. I like to be fashionably late :D ;) :happy2:

Christopher Lawrence is awesome. He's the last of the trance djs I can really enjoy out at a club night these days
