honestly the nyc trance scene is deff not what it used to be
back in 2002 to 04
clubs like arc/exit/avalon
were bookin the not so famous trance guys and those parties were pretty good but all those clubs have gone
now last year or the year before i dont remember webster hall was bookin some trance guys and i dont know if that went over well but iam guessing it dident and back in feb jon o bir was here and like no one showed up i was amazed he is such a great dj
its just times have changed i guess i understand you want a small club like love or somethin to bring these guys in not pacha or crobar
next night of a not so popular trance dj is sean tyas at love in dec sometime
i mean maybe iam wrong maybe the underground nyc trance scene is still alive but i havent been seeing it really
so if a promoter wants to make a party work in nyc they gotta see a crowd to come for it and like i said before alot of nyta's should go check out sean tyas and if theres a big buzz about it then maybe in the future they will book some more not so popular trance guys and get a weekly party goin

werd.. gotta support the locals ... i honestly enjoy local night at smaller venues then the big ones nowadays... espec. when everyone shows up and your hanging with friends... a place like element or love.. Element last night for the 1Love party was great... and it had a friendly vibe...

promoters and clubs just aren't trying to hear trance. i've tried hitting venues with me personally trying to invest money into the night. all they'd have to do is provide security and bar. all clubs would have none of that. perhaps i took the wrong approach also because the 1love parties were able to get into element, but even still they usually are more house based (like last night with kai, ryan, tae, ted, and a bunch of other locals.)

Just a theory, but I think a big part of it is that most trance people don't really do that much drinking, which is where clubs make their money. If you have a bunch of people on e and k, they're not running up $100 bar tabs by themselves, which isn't good for club business. You can have a packed club, but for the space costs in NYC, do you really think $10 cover is enough for 6 hours?

They have, to about 1000% ($6), that's why it really sucks when my drunk ass NEEDS a bottle of water and I've got to pay the equivalent cost of a beer to get it. Without the benefit of intoxication.

If indeed you are bringing the talent to NYC and open to the opinions of the real music fans, might I suggest a line of parties that is not of the "business mind".

Hell yea, take a hit for once, do a small less advertised party. How is that for an idea? ...

LOL, I guess you didn't get the memo: clickity-click

Aside from school and me having to use all my finances for things linked to school...

This is why I dont go out to clubs anymore, its just not interesting anymore. Its why I used to love going to the loft parties, give 10 bucks to friends for using their place, drink until it runs out, guaranteed good music... and most importantly, youre out with all your friends just having fun.

THIS is why I loved Element... If I needed a drink... I would go to the corner store, pay $1.80 for a beer, drink it outside and than go back in. It was awesome.
