| I'm too tired and too silly to actually post a real review. Those boys played all the goodies I expected, but then went somewhere else. Am I crazy? |

Ok, so just got back, chillin' w/ Tom @ my place at the moment. I'm not sure what zachias means, but I thought the night was amazing!
First of all, I showed up early and chilled with Jason for a bit and listened to his opening set. I thought he killed it with a perfectly designed set. Started off with some very interesting sounds, playing tracks that got people onto the dance floor. Then he transitioned into playing some harder tracks that would get them moving, and finally dropped the bass to turn a casual crowd into a raving mass of clubbers. Some fantastic tunes dropped toward the end, and it was, in my opinion, a very good opening set.
G&D came on a bit early (I'd like to have heard a bit more of Jollins' set) and started off dropping some amazing tracks early on. I had a rather lengthy conversation with Dave Dresden while they were setting up, during which I mentioned that 'Without You Near' was my favorite prodoction that G&D (w/ Markus Schulz) had come out with. I know people say it's overplayed, but I absolutely love that track. So the two of them drop a killer set, including some new version of Motorcycle's 'As the Rush Comes'. Their set was absolutely fantastic, though the end was really what sold it to me. They cranked so many amazing trance tracks toward the end that I was absolutely mesmorized by the music. And, of course, the encore happened to be 'Without You Near'. Honestly, though I've heard better overall sets, this might have been the best ending of a set that I've ever heard. The last hour (including a track that they played at precisely 5:35 that I had never heard before... sort of possessing the sound of a steel drum mixed with a Greek guitar) was exemplary of how any set should properly end. Finally, G&D are just chill guys who are fun to talk to and who are humble enough to really shine among other superstar DJs.
And as for the crowd? Well, I spent a lot of my time upstairs, so my verdict on the crowd isn't 100% accurate. I thought they were alright --- didn't see any major problems, other than what seemed like a ketamine overdose and a fight on the stairs (that later was re-fought outside the club on the street... two really juiced up guys swinging at eachother).
Final Verdict: A great party overall, proven so by the quality of the music. Track selection, mixing, and improvisation (Dresden was actually scratching and messing with a few of his tracks in an almost Carl Cox-like fashion) was great, something that leads me to give this party an overall thumbs up! |

Sorry, I was a blithering idiot. What I meant is pretty much what you said, they played a bunch of trancey good stuff, especially at the end, much of which I don't normally hear from them. Def my favorite G&D show.
Venue: People were nice, but lawdy was is crowded. |

My second time at Pacha and what a difference.
I love dJasons Set, it was my frist time hearing him. It was my first time seeing G&D and they were amazing. It was a very, very good night. There was alot of people though, but a fairly good crowd. Due to some drama that happens every time(long story) we left around 330 am. I stayed for 1 more song which was Beatiful things...my god, the whole crowd was signing the song. That moment was just amazing.
Overall great night and great party.
Thank you. |

Another Brick in the Wall, The One I love, and Beautiful Things pretty much made the night for me. I left around 4am, right after Zocalo. Good crowd, particularly right in the middle of the floor which is where I spent most of the night. Great set -- not my favorite set from these guys but right up there. Thankfully it stopped raining so we could walk a bit after leaving the club and savor the good time that had just been had.
Can't wait for AVB! |

| the highlight of the night for me was when G&D dropped my ALL TIME FAVE EMO track; Snow Patrol - Chasing Cars. I don't know what mix it is; but obviously it was a EDM mix - does anyone know which version it was?? |
