I came back from town and said in the chatroom i'd bought 3 new cd's today, Mart said he had also bought 3. so we've played top trumps with who got the best music but it's too close to call. what do u think?

Me:

Orbital 1989 - 2002, Deep Dish - GU021 Moscow and BT - Rare and Remixed

Mart:

Boards to Canada - Music has the Right to Children, Hybrid - I Choose Noise and Les Rythmes Digitales - Darkdancer

so, who got the best music?
Demoted
Mart based the BoC and Hybrid albums. Love them both to death.

You did. Orbital and BT win hands down.

Both are compilations though. And not very good ones either.

I thought R&R is great. Meanwhile Hybrid are and I've always found that BoC album a bit overrated.

Yeah, laughably . Especially given their reputation.

Mart gets all the points because of LRD... That's it.

However, he gets bonus points for BoC.

I was dissapointed with I Choose Noise. I expected tracks to be more of the quality of Just for Today. Tho im 2/3 of the way thro the Orbital CD i've bought and im not that impressed with that either. first 3 tracks are good, tailed off a bit since.

I'm listening to CD2 of R&R and i think it's fab.

I wouldn't go that far mate. I've seen Hybrid do a live act and it blew my mind - best musical experience i've ever seen. Wide Angel is fantastic too.

Meanwhile I've listened to Darkdancer and thought it was Funky So Good™, but haven't yet got round to listening to Boards of Canada or Hybrid. I know they're going to rock my socks, though.
