it still maintains the emotion of the original which is great. i'm not a fan of the lead melody (or what you've done with it). good effort though. i like it.
Klangzentrum
thx a lot, erratik! lead melody? it's the one out the the r.e. chilled mix! or do you mean the sound of it?

...and either my description was a little bad, saying that you dont have to expect that much, or nobody is interested in this remix at all...

hey Klangzentrum...

rapid eye circa forever is one of my favorite songs of all time (as you can see in this mix i made here). so i was thrilled to see that you made a remix of it!

well i downloaded it and listened to it fully. here's some feedback for you:

i think the hi-hat-ish type snare sounds you used in the beginning (the one that sorta sounds like a sprinkler) come in too early. you might consider starting off with just solo kicks and bassline and then after like 4 or 8 repetitions THEN bring in the snares (you may even start out with plain kicks only and then bring in the snares sinces its still percussion and THEn slowly bring in the bassline to make it more mixing friendly with other tracks, you know so 2 basslines won't collide and sound bad, especially if you or the dj playing you're track is not mixing harmonically...also, when you use the occasional cymbal crash sound (CHA!!!) after each 8 repetitions, you might wanna make that a more noticeable one, or increase its volume, to add more energy into the song. and last but not least, the adrenaline snare rolls that you used which leads into the kicks coming in sounds a bit fake to me (by fake i mean noticeably different from traditional trance rolls. you can easily check out a few trance tunes and try comparing it to yours, you'll see what i mean...overall, you might wanna add in some extra percussion or synth accompany sounds or effects all across the track to add more life to it, u know, to make things 10x better than they already are...up to ur creativity...

now on a lighter note, overall i liked it man...great work! it is evident that you didn't rush through it and u put in lotta hard work..also the instrument/sound volumes all sound perfectly harmonious and nicely balanced to me (at least cleaner than when i do it hehe)...and i liked how u kept the original teaser melody leading into it...also the pad was very juicy and the actual melody wowww sounds just like the OG version! how did u make that? can u tell me please? sounds like a JP 80x0 to me, but i could be wrong...nice duplication skills and a great remix which very-well reflects the style of the original..again, gj and goodluck!

+1

also i think the breakdown is a bit empty, needs some more stuff to it in my opinion, otherwise nice work mate, you nicely kept the feeling of the Rapid Eye mix:)

Nice never forget when i hear the original live by pvd
Subtle
listening..

i like the intro, its like in your face.. not sure if i like the 32 step closed hat.. bass and kick sounds warm and nice..open hats works nice, but should maybe have had a closed to support them.

break comes a bit sudden, personally i would have introduced it in like 4 minutes, but hey, thats me..

bass sounds really great.. main lead sounds nice and crisp, the progression doesnt touch me that much.

good work, but i find it a bit short, and wish it was a bit dirtier, but crisp and good production.
Klangzentrum
thx for the comments, guys!

yeah, i know it's not a perfect production..that's why i called it 'side-project', but i had the impression it's good enough to share with you here at TA, so i'm glad about every comment! ;)
Akia
Sounds nice, the break is a bit early imo but awesome! Nice job, keep it up! :)

Eldritch
This is a good production, I like the lead synth.
However the bass sounds out of tune with the rest of the track for some reason. It does sound wicked in the intro, but when the pluck comes in it sounds wrong. It's hard to explain.

Klangzentrum
thx akia and eldritch!

i dont hear what's wrong with the bass...only thing i could imagine is the part when the plucklead fades in and bass fades out...sounds a bit strange, but, imo, ok...

btw: @supersaw: forgot to answer: no it's no jp80x0...everything is software based...mostly v-station and z3ta+! ;)
