So, yesterday, was constituion day for my political science class, and rather than having class professors talked about the first 10 amendments and why they are important.
One of the professors decided to talk about russia. And he ,gave poll after poll, said that in Russia they are heading for a one party. And the majority of Russian's are fine with this. Over 76% of Russians want a stronger government even if it loses them some rights.
One of them mentioned that we have seperate powers(state v.s. fed) and that was to make sure if both were dictators they wouldn't work well with one another and also if you have a pseudo-dictator like Bush that he wouldn't control state.
Than it came to me why were they talkiing about foreign countries. When here in the US we have had the same two political parties controlling state and fed governments. Isn't having two parties even if one is in state and the other in fed like having one party? Our system has been basically run by the same type of individuals since Reagan. Who was the one who signed the, "pre-emptive strike," and than Dubya(one now) signs the patriot act.
Reagan signed the PES to protect American people from terrorists, but the year he signed it, only 79 Americans were killed by terrorists.
There is no point who really knows what goes behind the scene. Two parties running the whole ing country. And come on when were things any different here. |

Actually, I wasn't necessarily saying anything about membership. When I was referring to "members" I was talking about anybody in the PDD forum who would look at this.
So, you got it wrong and yes you are a moron. And a joke. I pity you. |

Actually a good point. I love how people like to put America on a pedestal as though it is the shining beacon of democracy, what a joke. You have two parties in this country that aren't really all that much different when you really break it down. It seems that both parties are for big government, and really while some dems are pushing this whole "phased withdrawal" they really aren't putting down a hard and vastly different line than the Reps when it comes to Iraq. Now, you do have slight differences here and there, but looking at each from far, they seem eerily alike. This is not some vast skull and bones or NWO conspiracy, however. It is simply the parties appealling to the middle, and therefore finding themselves, both in the "middle". This isn't even touching on the atrocity that is the Supreme Court, however, which is perhaps the most un-democratic aspect in our country today.
So, let's mock the Russians, but really we aren't far way. |
