I've just invested in Reason 3 again and I'm looking for some tips on making powerful Trance synths.
I'd also really like to know if I can play a sound with the Subtractor and send that sound through to the fruity arp because I cannot seem to do it. I've been told it is possible by some and it isn't by others.
Also, got any tips for making decent sounds with the Malstrom, I cannot seem to get much out of it. |

- Use the UN-16 Unison device on your synths. Mid-high Detune, and low Dry/Wet values seem to work the best. It tends to sound airy if overdone.
- Use the Combinator to layer two or more synths. For example, two malstrom synths with different osc tuning, attached to a mixer. One panned hard left and the other right.
- Use high amounts of detuning (One osc -30, the other +30). It will result in a very warm synth. It might sound weird when the filter is open. But thanks to the combinator you can assign the osc detuning to the same knob as the filter.
- Use the Scream 4 device or the malstroms built in saturation to give warmth to your synths.
- Use LFO modulation to give your synths more life.
- Chorus can sometimes yield pretty cool results.

| Thanks, I will go and try some stuff out and see what I can do. I guess I can make a short sample, export it and then impor tin to FL's arp :). |
