So i just got this pioneer djm 800, its amazing
I used to mix on this old piece of crap numark, cant remember the model (not worth remembering) but it was like 80 dollars american, bottom of the line.
In any case i find myself having to approach things differently, the bass eq is completely different. like i used to be able to fade out track 1 bass (track 1 and 2 playing, highs and mids full go) and Bring it track 2 bass in one quick boom, and it sounded good, but i feel like now the bass has a lot more definition and it sounds totally akward if i do that. At least in the songs i was mixing together.
Has anyone had the same problem? I mean i can still beatmatch and mix songs, it just isnt as smooth as it used to be and i imagine it will be a few weeks till i am in top form again |

its just cause your using a different mixer man, Like anything else you will slowly adapt to it the more you PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE.
My Numark Low Freq is weird.. It's.. too bassy? I think its partially my house sound system though |

it will be good for ya in the long run. any time you get new equipment there is a breaking in period, it wont take you long and you will love it. |

I found I have the same issue with my mixer. Too much bass. But then again, whoever said too much bass was a bad thing? :p |

on my numark there wasnt too much bass, it just wasnt as well defined as the djm 800, like there is a lot more texture to the sound when i use the djm 800 so it is less punchy i guess. punchy was easy to mix in whenever i wanted to, could bang it in or bang it out it wasnt as obvious sounding as it is on the djm 800
just out of curiosity do the 600 and 800 function similarly? if i use a 600 in a club what should i expect? |

i personally dont own either, but i doubt they function the same as far as the eq's and faders go. the 800 is based of digital sampling, so all the adjustments are done at a digital level. the 800 would function most similairly to the 400. |
