I grew up in Ukraine, next to a forest abundant with Amanita muscaria but we were always told they are poisonous. Anytime I saw it, I'd crush it or kick it.
Are they really poisonous or is it an urban legend? |

| in the u.s. mushrooms are legal until they are dried. also, if you are obviously going to use them for human consumption you can be prosecuted. |

| I'm just curious - I don't think I'd be brave enough to either pick them myself or trust someone shady to pick them for me. I don't feel like playing russian roulette with my life for a relatively minor return on the risk. I'm just curious, as the sources contain conflicting information and I'm wondering if we were being duped or is there truth to it. |
