Cubase - Real Time Midi control?

when i play a note on my Midi controller, the sound doesn't play until about a second later?
Does anyone know how to change it so it plays straight away?

| turn down buffer latency in devices -> device setup and goto controll panel for your asio driver. |

What the ninja said. Your latency is too high. Get it to something perferably under 10ms. |
