Whenever you have family visiting, don’t you get sick of it like after the first day? lol don’t get me wrong, I generally have a really good time with my family (mom’s side mostly, not really close to my dad’s family) because they’re all hysterically funny and we always have a good time, but after the first day, I’m just like, “ok bye”. Haha I guess I don’t like my routine ed up. Is that selfish of me, or is anyone else in the same boat?
The only time I didn’t care at all about having family over was when my 2 younger cousins came to stay with me a couple of months ago. I hadn’t seen them in like 7 or 8 years (they are 18 and 21 now) and we had a blast the whole time they were here. I was sad that they had to leave. Maybe it’s because they are more my age, unlike all my uncles and stuff. But when it comes to my aunts and uncles and my nana…even my sister… 2 days, tops is all I can deal with. |

i don't smoke pot, and neither does my family.
the only uncle I have who smokes pot lives on a sailboat with his wife in the Caribbean. It’s just their way of life. They’re not like these loser stoners with no jobs. Having a joint and a glass of wine each night while they watch the sunset is just their thing. and the few times I’ve visited them (when they used to live in the Bahamas), we burned one together. |

then try this
gather everyone around a large table. Everyone gets a turn to speak, and when it's someone's turn - they need to choose someone else at the table and thoroughly elaborate on how that person has disappointed them over the past year. |

One I can totally relate.
Find some stuff to do outside the house or else you're all going to be stuck together for who knows how long ( the length of the visit ?! ).
Organize some activities.
Don't stay at home! But if you must, keep the time at home to a minimum or plan it out ( meal, games or who knows what ).
Yeah it all sounds so retarded planning the time with the family but if you don't do that everyone gets bored and then you as the host have everyone getting on your nerves. |

| I always make myself scarce when my family visit. I don't dislike any of them, but I have absolutley nothing in common with any of them either. I'll be ed if I can be arsed to sit around and make small talk just because the laws of social etiquette expect me to in a deplorable act of conformance. I'm far too cool for that. :cool: |

| The only people that have ever visited are my Mom, my sister, my wife's parents, and her brother. I guess because they are all immediate family I had no problem tolerating them. If it were aunts and uncles though, or my stepmom, I could see myself getting a little testy. |
