I wasn't fortunate enough to see this live but I couldn't believe my ears when the commentator said Alonso had scored from 70 yards... I thought he meant 7 and had just been drinking too much.

unfortuneately, as i rather have gary paffett in his place anyday

but on the topic of this goal...umm...david who? Beck's goal was right before the midfield line...this was about a bit more than a quarter up the field id say...what a frickin strike and a half...

but when i saw alonso in the thread title i thought it had something to do with formula one's soon to be ex-champion fernando alonso:haha:
