A question about Norton

Everytime Im on the internet Norton has a tendency on popping up and saying computer has been updated to protect you from worms. And I thought it was a virus so I ran the scan and it came up clear.
Is Norton meant to be this annoying? |

GO to the Pref settings and there should be a option there to turn off notification after each update..... I stopped using NAV a few years back and now use the totally free Avast,,,
