stanton 500-II needle with a gemini xl-100??!

| my friend just loaned me his gemini xl-100 turntables but one of them didnt have a needle so i bought a stanton 500-II for it. When I put it on i get sound but the needle stays sometimes and plays but skips every 5 seconds then the needle runs across the record :( can someone please help me out because im a newbie :) |

| make sure the counter-weight is nice and heavy, the 500's arn't the best for staying in the grooves of a record. |

| I use the stanton Diskmaster (headshell and cart in one) and it is very good. and its not as expensive as ortofon's |

hmmm dont know much about those... but i hear that its not that great... someone told me that the stanton 520sk cart. are not bad and are pretty cheap too.... does anyone have anymore info on these?

| no.. but in my iDJ magazine it says the Diskmaster II's are the top choice for many DJ's. i wouldn't doubt it either |

Naw man,
Diskmasters are not really good cartdirges. The reason why a lot of ppl are buying those is because they are cheap, and they work pretty good for that $90/pair. They are good for like bedroom DJs and people like that, not pro's...
I personally don't like them, I prefer my Trackmasters. |
