Post some quick fixes you cook up when you're hungry. Nothing *too* fancy.

When I'm REALLY hungry and have nothing to eat...

- Cook up some pasta
- Chop some onions and green peppers (sometimes some ham/sausage)
- Drain the pasta
- Dump the pasta back into the pot on low heat
- Mix in the onions, green peppers ( and ham)
- Stir in a little bit of pasta sauce
- Cook for about 5 minutes, constantly stirring

I'm a cooking rookie, but I really like making this because it's so cheap and it hits the post. But I need to more things to cook, so post them.

Yes, as soon as I finished posting this thread (during the "Click here to view the thread" screen"), I got the popup.

I'll probably be there in a few minutes, but *DO NOT* hold your breath. I can procrastinate quite a bit. ;)

Nutty veg rice:

Boil some brown rice
When cooking, prepare some sweetcorn and chop an onion.
Once rice is ready, add other ingredients including soy sauce, cashew nuts (or whatever nuts you've got.)
If you have some, add some fresh spinach.

Serve. Voila. :)

wait!! u gotta hear about my fish recipe. it rocked.

i ended up coating the fish with teryaki sauce and honey. and then, in a bowl, i crushed up some ritz crackers and added a little scoop of margarine and added chopped almonds, so it was kinda like a nutty paste, and i coated the top of the fish with it, and baked it.

it was ing delish! my uncle was extremely impressed.

i served it with baked sweet potatoes with honey butter and cinammon and steamed broccoli, cauliflower, and baby carrots.

You can't just serve disaster by itself - What the hell will your guests think? You need an accompaniment.

SOmething I made up from ingredients lying around in the kitchen

get a bunch of chicken pieces (I had boned thigh fillets) rub with a generous amount of paprika all over. Chuck into a deep pan with a little olive oil, turn up the head to brown on all sides, then turn down to medium heat and cook through. Set aside.

Add a big knob of butter to the pan, chuck in a couple of diced onions and cook, then throw in a few big handfuls of sliced mushrooms.

When they start to cook return chicken to pan.

Get a tub of sour cream, stir in a bit of lemon juice to add sourness and some water to thin the mix, pour into the pan and heat. Reduce heat adjust seasoning with salt and Pepper. Add some chopped parsely just before you turn off the heat.

I made that in a bout 15 mins and had some fettucine on the boil in th meantime, so i chucked it on that.
